Katty dropped me off around 11:30. I was dead tired. It had been a long day.

Me and Katty both decided we would go to the mall on Sunday. It was time for a girl's day, and some much needed shopping. I loved that I was making a new friend. Katy was really sweet and fun to be around.

I made my way to room after I brushed my teeth. Mom was working a third at her new job. Stevie's bedroom light was on. I knocked lightly on the door.

"Come in." She answered.

"Hey." I said with a smile. Kaitlynne was on her bed reading a seventeen magazine with River Phoenix on the cover. She put her magazine in her lap and sighed slightly.

"I need to apologize. I'm sorry for being so rude since we've moved. I miss home. It's been hard on me." Stevie looked at me with sad eyes. I went and sat on her bed.

"I know it's hard. But, think about this way. There is so much more to experience here. You will be ok. I know you will." I comforted.

"I know. It will take some time." She sighed.

I felt for her. Especially at her age, fourteen. She was at the age where she still didn't know who she was.

"How was the concert?" She asked. Filling in the awkward silence.

"I had a great time. They were really good. Katty is fun to hang out with. You should go shopping with us Sunday she said to ask you." Stevie thought for a second.

"That sounds fun. I will come along. I like Katy. Even though she's a bit older we can still be friends. She said with a warm smile.

It made me happy that Stevie would be joining us. She was a lot of fun when she wasn't being a moody teenager.

"So any cute guys in the band?" She asked with a mischievous grin.

I automatically thought of Liam. I felt heat rising to my checks.

"There is! Did you get his name?" She asked with delight.

"Yes, his name is Liam he is the lead singer of the band. He was really cool. The whole band was."

Stevie let out a giggle. I felt so childish talking to Stevie like this. We never discussed boys. There wasn't any boy in Indiana worth gushing over, at least that is what I thought.

"What does he look like?" She wondered.

"Well, he has really pretty blue eyes. Full lips, brownish hair that hangs in his eyes a little. He is actually beautiful. Nearly God like. I have never seen a guy like him before. It's like he put a spell on me." I found myself getting really warm as I talked about him. I know my face was as red as fire. I sounded ridiculous.

"You think he likes you?" Stevie questioned.

I laughed. "Ha, fat chance. A guy like him would never fall for a book worm like me."

"You never know, Rhi. They say opposites attract". I thought for a second about what she said.

"Hmm, I guess you are right." I said. I wouldn't get my hopes up about Liam. After all Katty said he wasn't boyfriend material. That was code to stay far away. But, somehow I didn't really care. What was I getting myself into?

It was a late Saturday nights. I was closing at the thrift shop. I learnt everything I needed to know in a two days work. The job was really easy. All I had to do was ring out customers and close up shop. My boss Maggie did the rest. I would eventually do more as I progressed. It was pouring rain outside. I really wished I didn't ride my bike. When I left earlier the skies were clear. I guess weather was unpredictable here. It was about five minutes until close. I started to do my count when the door dinged.
