Part 16: Gift
"You've got the job!" Ita claps for me. "Congrats! Now I can train you. I am not really friends with all the other workers here, but I feel you, and I will be great friends." He smiles brightly.
"I did?!" I was shocked that I had gotten this opportunity.
"I told the manager you were my friend, and that you are a hard worker. She favors me since I'm friendly." He chuckles.
"I'm happy. I can't wait to start. Thank you Ita." I formed a small smile.
"Me too! I can finally have a friend here. Here is the rule manual. You know, just the dress code, and such." He slides me a dark blue leather manual for the bakery. It looked pretty fancy for a manual. I took it, and slipped it into my pocket.
"Thank you. I will come back tomorrow?" I asked.
"Yes! The owner will be here tomorrow. See you!"
I left the bakery, and started walking towards the apartment. I felt overjoyed with my job opportunity. I can finally make enough to pay back Takahiro, and possibly look for a new spot to move to.
The streets were pretty loud. There was a lot of men crowding around the gym. I realized it was a sale on gym equipment. The black, and red boxing gloves really caught my attention. I would pay attention to Takahiro a lot, and he was really into boxing. His gloves at home were all worn out. Maybe I can get him this to repay him somehow.
I walked it, and pointed to the boxing gloves. The man's eyes lit up. "Wow you want those? There is only one pair left. You are lucky." He goes to get them, and hands me it. "It's a little pricey."
"It's okay." I pulled out my card, and handed it to him. I had a decent amount saved. No amount of money is a gift's limit.
The man wraps the gloves up, and places it gently in a box, and hands me the bag that contained the box. "Here you go. Enjoy."
"Thanks." I walked out the store. I felt accomplished. I hope Takahiro will love these.

"I'm home!" I called out. I looked around to see no signs of Takahiro. I knew he was home since his shoes were near the door, but he was nowhere to be seen.
I took off my shoes, and placed them on the rack. I decided to place his shoes on the rack as well. I went to to place the boxing gloves on the kitchen table for him to see later.
I heard footsteps walking downstairs. It was none other than Takahiro. He looked tired. His hair was a mess as always, and he was smoking. What a disgusting man. Sometimes I can't stand him.
Looking around the house, I noticed it was much neater than it normally was. Did he clean while I was gone?
"Hey man." He said.
"Hey."
"Where were you?" His eyes showed something was bothering him. He's been acting weird with me, and always asking where I was. I felt like he treated me like a kid, and it was getting annoying.
"I was in the city with a friend. I got a job, and wanted to discuss briefly about it."
"Well...." He looked like he wanted to say something else, but he stopped. "Nothing. Did you eat dinner yet?"
"No." I wanted to give him his gift. Maybe he will come down to the kitchen.
"Did you want to eat something?" He walks down, and approaches the kitchen. He looks at the bag. "What's that? Take-out?"
