*Still Hazel's POV*
"You definitely have to audition." Maya bugged me as we walk towards the cafeteria.
"I said I'll think about it." I was starting to get annoyed.
"Come on, you're one of the best dancers here. You're in the top 5 & 3 of them are boys. So really you got this is the bag." Alyssa tried to help Maya persue me into auditioning.
I smiled. "Thanks guys but this is big & I just don't want to get my feelings hurt if I don't make it."
"But this is a once in a lifetime chance, even if you don't make it, how many people get a chance to say that they actually auditioned to Dance for MB? & What if you actually do make it & I'm auditioning & i'm no where as good as you." Maya lead us to the salad bar.
"Okay, well I'll audition under one condition." I looked at them. "Alyssa you audition too." I piled lettuce on my plate.
Alyssa stopped. "No! I'm too nervous & I don't dance"
"So explain why your major is dance?" Maya put raisins in my salad & then some on hers.
"I'm a ballerina, i'm not good at hip hop. But it'll be fun & I'll get to say I auditioned so fine." She sat down.
Maya & I cheered !!
"Hey guys!" Our friend Tameela joined us.
"Hey girl." We all said.
"So I'm guessing you two dance majors are auditioning?" She took her bun off of her hamburger & put ketchup on top of the meat.
"Ew ketchup is so gross." I pretended to puke.
"I agree!" Maya did the same thing.
We all laughed !
"But yeah, Alyssa is auditioning too!" Maya told Tameela.
Just then our other friend Janise walked up.
"What ya'll talking about?" Janise sat down.
"Auditions." Alyssa informed her.
"Hazel! I know you got this ! You're like the best female dancer at NYSA"
"Stop guys! Really i'm not that good." I blushed.
"Hey Hazel! You auditioning, right?" Damien, from my dance class asked.
"Yeah."
"You better. Well since you're auditioning. There is only one open spot." He smiled & his dimples showed .
"Awe, guys really !" I smiled.
I used to have a really big crush on Damien so that meant a lot to me.
"So you still don't think, you're that good?" Tameela asked.
"Haha I just don't want to gas myself." We laughed & enjoyed lunch then headed to 4th hour.
**Authors POV**
Maya walked to class w. Hazel because they both had dance class next period. They couldn't even get to class w.o people telling Hazel they knew she'd do good.
Maya grew jealous.
Maya had always been jealous of Hazel. Hazel had the most beautiful hair, Smooth light skin, perfect white teeth, a nice body. Money & even tho Hazel's Dad wasn't in the picture she still had the perfect family !
She had everything Maya wanted. Even Denzel, even tho Him & Hazel broke up a couple months ago. The fact that she had him at all killed Maya. Maya had been trying to get his attention since 7th grade & Hazel popped up the middle of 9th grade year & fit right in & snagged him.
