Chapter: 5(pic of Nathan)

-Lilly's POV-
I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring near my ears. I slammed my hand over the snooze button to shut the damn thing up. I turned around so I could wake my brother up but the other side of the bed was empty. Where is he? He never wakes up earlier than he's suppose to, especially on a school night. I got out of bed and walked into my brother's room to see if he was there but his room and bathroom was empty. I furrowed my eyebrows from confusion. I couldn't really think clearly because the only thought that clouded my brain was Jovani. The kiss, our history, us use to be best friends. That's when it hit me. No I didn't get an idea. The smell of mouthwatering food is what hit me. I walked down the stairs to the kitchen, following the smell of food. I walked into the kitchen and found my brother over the stove cooking, Nathan, Nicholas, James, and Jada all sitting around the counter eating. "Look sleeping beauty is finally awake!" James says. "For the first time in forever!" Nathan and Nicholas sang, quoting Frozen. I punched the three of them in the shoulder and I heard them hiss in pain. "God are you sure that your not a guy?" Nathan says. "You on steroids?" James asks and I punch the both of them on their other shoulder. I sat on the other stool and Jonathan placed a plate full of food. There was eggs, bacon, sausages, and my overall favorite, Nutella pancakes! "Sweetie?" I looked up and saw Jada's eyes filled with concern. "Jonathan told us....." she trailed off. I was confused and Jada must of saw my confusion since she said, "He told us about what you and him talked to your parents about last night." that's when it dawned onto me that she was talking about last night's talk. "Oh." was the only thing I said since I didn't know what else to say. "Honey if you wanna talk about it then we're here for you." Jada says and that comforts me. I nod and start to dig in my food. "Did you guys see who's moving next door?" James asks. "What do you mean next door. Next door here or next door at your house?" I asked. "Here." he says. We all shrug. "Jovani." he says and I stiffen. "What?!" I said. "How do you know?" I asked. "This morning when I came over here I saw him and his parents and I guess his little sister moving boxes into the house." He explains. "Well mom and dad will be ecstatic once they hear this." Jonathan says and I nod. As if on cue my parents walk in and my mom asks, "Hear what?" "Uh mom...." I trailed off. "Yeah?" She asks. "Esmerelda and Pedro with their kids are moving next door." I say slowly. She drops the apple in her hand and my dad jaw drops. "E-Esmerelda a-and Pedro?" she asks. I nod. She smiles and turns around and jumps on my dad. "Oh honey we should go over there now!" She says. My dad nods and they practically run out of the house. "Should we go too?" Jonathan asks and I nod. I fixed my hair and put it into a ponytail. We left our friends and went in the direction my parents went.

We finally reached our parents as they knocked on the door. The door swung open but none of us expected a little girl to be the one to open the door. "Hi. Do you need anything?" the little girl who seemed like 7 years old asked. "Is your mommy and daddy home?" my mom says. The little girl nods and she runs into the house to get her parents.

A woman around my parents age walked to the door still looking down at her daughter as she asks in her strong hispanic accent, "How can I help you?" "Esmerelda." my mom breathes out as if she couldn't believe this was happening. Once my mom says Esmerelda, her head snaps up and she gasps. "Verónica!? Anthony?!" she yells my parents name. Esmerelda immediately hugs my mom and dad. "No puedo creerlo!" she says while crying with my mother. "I can't believe it either!" my mom says sobbing. "Esmerelda ¿qué pasó?" a deep masculine voice says. "Oh Pedro ven aquí!" Esmerelda calls for her husband.

A moment later a man stands next to Esmerelda with a confused face. "Anthony? Verónica?" he asks and they both nod. "Oh my god!" he says and hugs my dad first then my mom. "God we've missed you guys! We felt bad after we moved back to Puerto Rico!" Pedro says. Then his eyes land on me. "Is this Lilly?" he asks and I nod. He hugs me and I hug back. "No te visto desde que eras cuatro!" he says with a huge smile. I smile back. "Nice to meet you again Mr. Hernandez." I said. "No, no, no, none of that mister crap. Call me Pedro." he says and I nod. Next thing I know Esmerelda hugs me too. "Ay querida. ¡Que bonita eres!" Esmerelda says as she hugs me with a tear strolling down her face. "Esmerelda?" My mom asks. "Yeah?" she asks. "Esta es su hija?" my mom asks pointing at the girl who is hugging her father. "Si. Her name is Verónica after you." Esmerelda says as a couple tears stroll down my mom's face. "Jonathan?" Pedro asks and my brother nods. Pedro hugs him and says, "You have become a handsome young man." Esmerelda hugs Jonathan also and nods. "Very handsome." she smiles. "¿Mamá? ¿Papa? ¿Dónde fuiste?" A very husky and attractive voice says. I immediately recognized that voice. Jovani. "Aquí hijo!" Pedro says. I see Jovani walking to the front door. "Jovani esto es Verónica y Anthony. Esta es su hija Lilly. Ella es la chica en esa foto que te mostré." Esmerelda says. Jovani eyes widen once he heard that I was the girl in the picture. "I know Lilly and her brother." he tells his mom after he shakes my dad hands and kisses my mom's cheek as a greeting. "Oh Jovani you are very handsome!" my mom says. "Espera. ¿Cómo sabes Lilly?" Esmerelda asks her son. "Mamá te dije. La conocí en la escuela. Ella es la que me besé." he says and my eyes widen."You told her?" I whisper so only he can hear. He notices me and asks, "You understood that?" I nod and his cheek turns a light pink once he noticed we all understood that since my mom and dad smirked. "Verónica nos eran correctas!" Esmerelda says and they both jump up and down like teenage girls. "What are you talking about Mamá?" Jovani asks. "Oh well since you and Lilly were so close Verónica and I believed that you and Lilly would one day date and get married." Jovani starts coughing. "Mamá!" he yells from being surprised. "¡¿Qué?! Preguntaste." she says. "Esmerelda we need to catch up. Anthony and I have to go to work ahora but give me your number so you, Pedro, Anthony and I can catch up." My mom says. Esmerelda nods and takes my mom's and dad's phone to put her's and her husband's number in each of their phones. "Okay bye Esmerelda and Pedro. Nice to see you and see Jovani again. And I'm happy I could meet Verónica." my mom says. Esmerelda hugs all of us and Pedro copies her action. "Good seeing you Verónica y Anthony. Oh and Lilly and Jonathan nice to see you guys again too!" she yells waving. We waved back as they closed the door. "Guys you don't have to go to school today. Bye!" my mom says and she gives us each a kiss goodbye.
