I look up from the papers when there was a knock on my office door. Muttering a quick 'come in' I close my tired eyes and swipe a hand over my face roughly.

Hell, I was exhausted. I've been stuck in this room since this morning, my wolf was begging me to go for a run, but the office work has to be done today and I always get things done on time.

Adam comes in with a mug is his hand. The aroma of black coffee fills my senses. I raise my eyebrow, I don't remember asking for it, not that I will return it. The black liquid is like a fucking lifeline to me the only thing which had managed to keep me sane.

Accepting the coffee, I gesture toward the chairs in front of my desk "Thanks for the coffee, Adam. How can I help you?" I ask uninterestingly, my eyes skip through the paper I was holding and take a sip from my coffee instantly feeling its effect. When he doesn't answer, I glance up to see him walk over to the corner of my office, and throw himself on the sofa, getting comfortable.

Placing a hand over his chest, he pouts "Aw, I'm happy to see you too, baby!"He replies, using a high pitched voice. I just stare at him with an annoyed look. He always pushes my buttons. If he wasn't my beta and a good friend, his ass would've be in dungeons by now.

Rolling his eyes at me, he huffs "I just came to let you know that Alpha of the Ember Moon pack called." he says in a bored tone.

Nodding my head to let him know I was listening, I turn back to my work. Picking up the pen, I sign at the bottom of the file and place it aside with others "What did he want?" I inquire, already irritated that prick called.

"Same old, same old. That we should be each others allies yadi yada. I declined his offer, saying the chances of that happening is when the moon turns green." A wide, proud grin tugs on his mouth. Adam hated that man's guts.

Shaking my head with a hint of smile I say "Good, we don't associate with the likes of him." Alpha Joseph is known to be a coward, power hungry bastard. There is a rumor saying he had a hand in the destruction of Silver Moon Pack. How did he manage to win the Alpha battle challenge from his brother is beyond me. I wont be surprised if he cheated and not to mention he's losing money and pack members faster than his respect. Some of them disobey him or just rather go rogue than to serve him.

Adam makes a noise of agreement before adding "Anyways, your mother called to tell you pick up her calls or just call her.''he says soberly.

"I will call her tonight," No, I won't "is there anything else?" Finally done with papers, I throw them aside and slump into my chair.

"No, that's all man. You should go get some rest, its 11 in the evening." Why am I not surprised?

Closing my eyes, I move my head from side to side to release some of the tension building in my neck "Yeah, I will but after I go for a run. My wolf has been driving me crazy." standing up, I stretch my stiff muscles.

"Cool, I will come with you. I didn't go for a run today either." Adam offers, getting up himself. Adam works just as much as I do, if not more. I'm lucky to have him as my beta. Not that I will ever tell him that of course.

We walk out of the office door. Of all the three pack houses, my office resided on the third floor of the main pack house.

As my muscle protest with each step, I remember other than breakfast I haven't eaten anything since this morning. Momentarily contemplate leaving the idea of run and go to my private house buried further in the woods.
