"Oh my god I look like a blimp," I sighed turning slightly as I looked at myself in the mirror. My fathers and Kathrine's wedding was only a few weeks away now and I still wasn't sure if the dress we got was going to fit me.

"You look fine," Kathrine smiled at me as she made a circle around me trying to see the whole look.

"You're just saying that to be nice," I sighed as I flopped down on the stool beside me.

"You have that cute pregnant look," she smiled. "I know lot's of women who would kill to look like that at 6 months."

"I guess," I huffed. Ok I know I was clearly over reacting. It was just such a big change for me. 6 months had come and gone so quickly which meant this baby was going to be here soon. I was starting to freak out  a little. I didn't know what to do. What happened when the baby got sick? Or at what age was it ok to start feeding them normal people food. I had so many questions and not enough time to prepare myself. "Kathrine can we stop off at the book store on the way home?"

"Sure thing," she smiled warmly at me. "Ok stand up agin and give me a quick spin," she winked.

"Fine but after that can I take it off?" I remember falling in love with this dress the moment I laid eyes on it but now I just felt awkward wearing it.

"OK I need your opinion on my dress anyway," Kathrine breathed whimsically. She had had the airy tone to her voice for weeks now. You could tell she was getting excited about the wedding and I guess I didn't blame her. My father was a nice guy and I was starting to warm up to Kathrine as a step mom.

As soon as I did my little spin I hurried into the changing room and peeled the soft fabric off of me replacing it with a pair of jean maternity shorts and a loose top. I let out a sigh of relief as my clothes hung off of me comfortably. I slipped my dress back on its hanger and brought it back out to the seamstress. Because I was pregnant I had to come back a few days before the wedding for the final fitting unlike Kathrine who's last fitting was today.

"Ok Kathrine let me see the dress," I smiled sitting back down on the stool. Kathrine quickly slipped into the changing room and a few minutes later she appeared in a beautiful gown. It had gorgeous beading on the top and a peek a boo layer with beading on it as well. The dress really did fit her like a glove. "You look amazing," I breathed. "My father is one lucky fellow."

"You think?" She asked looking at herself in the mirror.

"The dress was made for you," I assured her. After about a half an hour of talking to the seamstress we finally made it out of the dress store and started making our way to the book store.  "Thank you for bringing me here," I smiled as we pulled into a parking spot in front of chapters.

"Anytime Elaynnah," Kathrine smiled.

Once inside the store I quickly made my way to the parenting section grabbing up a few books. I picked up one called  'What to expect when your expecting'  and ' The baby and Toddler cook book,'  and finally one called 'How to talk so kids will listen and how to listen so kids will talk.'  I also picked up a book to keep track of my baby you know all the firsts and how big they were when they were born. I figured that keeping a record would be a nice keepsake for when they were older.

I made my way up to the front counter with my pile of books. I shyly placed them up on the counter when it was my turn blushing slightly when the woman gave me an odd look. I was never going to get used to that look. Like ever. As soon as my books were safely tucked away in a bag I went in search of Kathrine who was picking up some kids books.

"What are you doing?" I asked standing beside her.

"Well I got to thinking that babies and bedtime stories go really well together. So as a gift from me I'm going to get you a few."

"You don't have to Kathrine it's ok," I shrugged feeling bad.

"Don't be silly I want to," Kathrine smiled. After spending the next fifteen minutes choosing between 'the very hungry Caterpillar,' 'Guess how much I love you,' 'I love you through and through,' and 'Love you forever.'

"I don't know Kathrine they all look pretty good to me," I breathed as she held them up once more.

"You know what I'll just get them all," She smiled making her way to the cashier with me in tow. "Want to grab lunch?" She asked as we walked outside.

"Sure," I smiled placing my bag inside the car. We pulled up to this cute little diner for lunch. The bubbly waitress escorted us to our seat and took our drink orders as soon as we stepped foot into the building.

“So what was it you were in such a hurry to buy at the book store?” Kathrine asked taking a sip of her diet cola.

“Um just some parenting book,” I breathed quietly.

 “Starting to get nervous?”

“I just want to be prepared,” I lied. Of course I was nervous. What teenage girl wouldn't be? I was seventeen and about to have my first child I was more then nervous I was terrified. I hated the judgmental looks that were shot my way and eventually they would be shot at my baby as well. The thought of that made me angry. Sure I made a mistake, but people made mistakes if we didn't then well we wouldn't be human right?

“Elaynnah it's ok to be scared. All new parents are. You can sit and read all the parenting books you want but until the baby is here you wont be ready. Have you talked to your father about this?”

“No. I don't really think that's a good idea,” I sighed. Why was she being so happy about this. When I first told them they wanted me to get an abortion or give my baby up for adoption.

“Oh honey I think he's the best person to ask advice from,” She smiled.

“I'll keep that in mind,” I smiled back still slightly confused with her change of heart.

I sat on Tristin's bed with my bag of books as he paced around the room. We had this thing when one of us was calm the other was a nervous wreck and since I had my freak out earlier today it was now Tristin's turn. I didn't blame him though. A baby would really cramp his style. Well sort of. I guess everyone expected the school's bad boy to knock up someone at some point.

“Three months,” he repeated. “We are going to have a baby in three months.”

“Yup,” I smiled leaning back grabbing out the what to expect when your expecting book.

“Time is going way to quickly,” he murmured.

“Sorry I can't control that one for you,” I giggled making him stop dead in his tracks.

“Ha ha very funny,” he laughed rolling his eyes. “What are you reading?” He asked sitting down beside me.

“A baby book would you like to read with me?”

“Uh I don't know,” he answered rather to quickly.

“Oh come on it wont make the baby come any quicker if you read the book with me,” I teased.

“Fine, fine,” he smiled laying down so I could snuggle up with him so we could both read.

“Thank you,” I breathed kissing his cheek gently.

“Yeah yeah, turn the page.”

“But I haven't finished this one yet,” I pouted.

“That's because you're talking instead of reading,” he joked.

“So are you,” I argued.

“I'm just a fast reader.”

“Yeah, yeah,” I rolled my eyes before turning my attention back to the book. We settled into a comfortable silence for the rest of the night just being together and reading. Life sure had its way of moving quickly that was for sure. I'm sure our baby will be off to school before we can even blink and eye.
