When they say days fly by they mean it. It's now a week before school starts up again and all my friends are rushing around trying to get everything they need together. I on the other hand am not. I am getting ready to have a baby and since I'm due in October I decided that I wasn't going to regular high school. My father paid for me to finish my schooling online. So instead of picking out first day back outfits with Sam I was packing a bag for the hospital. I wasn't hunting for locker stuff nope I was looking at crib linens and baby clothing.
"So how are you feeling little mama?" Sam asked as we sat in the food court waiting for the guys to get back from whatever they were doing.
"Fat," I huffed making Sam roll her eyes. "Ok fine I know I'm not that big I just feel like I'm caring a basket ball down there."
"Your stressed out because Tristin is going back to school and your not aren't you?" Sam asked hitting the nail on the head perfectly making me blush.
"Ok yes kind of. It worries me. I'm all big now and he's going back to a school full of pretty girls," I sighed.
"Don't worry about it. The boy is clearly head over heals about you. Plus I'll be there to scare away any girls that don't take no for an answer." The thought of Sam beating on stupid horny girls made me giggle. She was right I was way over reacting.
"You're right," I breathed sitting back slightly.
"Of course I am," she smiled. "So the due date is soon are you excited?"
"I'm terrified," I admitted softly. "I've read all the baby books and I'm still a nervous wreck."
"You'll be a terrific mother Elaynnah. Plus you have Aunty Sam to help you out and Tristin will be father of the year I'm sure of it."
"Thanks," I murmured taking a sip of my water. "Are you ready for school yet?"
"What's to be ready for? I need a few binders and some pens," she shrugged. "I was ready like two months ago."
Before I could add to our conversation the boys came back laughing loudly flopping down on the chairs around us. I smiled when Tristin shot me a quick wink. I know Sam was right by my heart still ached at the thought of being away from Tristin all day.
"Hey guys I'm going to take Elaynnah out for dinner so I'll catch you later ok?" Tristin smiled standing up.
"Oh whats the occasion?" I joked as I stood up beside him.
"Just want to do something nice for my girl," he winked taking my hand making my stomach flutter with butterflies as soon as our skin touched. Which also meant the baby was going to kick like crazy now. I smiled when I felt the oh so familiar flutter in my stomach. Yup there it is.
“Do you have everything ready for the baby yet?” Tristin asked me as we got into his car.
“I should be asking you the same question,” I smiled. “But yeah I think I'm good I have the crib, stroller, playpen, clothes, diapers, car seat, you name it I have it,” I breathed quickly.
“Good,” he replied. “My grandmother converted her sewing room into a nursery for us to at my place for when you decide to stay over if your father lets you,” he smiled.
“Well I can't keep your child away from you,” I breathed quietly.
“I guess not,” he chuckled his low rumble that made my heart do this flip flop thing.
“So are you ready for school?” I asked nervously.
“I guess. I'm not really looking forward to it though. I wish you were coming back,” he breathed.
“It would be silly to waste one month Tristin,” I smiled weakly at him.
"I know," he sighed. "Let's just have a nice night just me and you."
"That sounds nice," I smiled as he pulled up to the same place we had our first date. Like everything lately the date flew by. Making my heart sink slightly when Tristin dropped me off at home. I hated saying goodbye to him, and with the summer winding down I felt like my time alone with him was coming to an end. I waved goodbye as he pulled away before turning back to the house stepping inside.
"Elaynnah we need to talk," my father said softly as I entered the house.
