Chapter 2

Lady-In-Waiting Maddie's P.O.V.

"Maddie," I hear a familiar British accent. "It's time for you to get up." I open my eyes to see Darwin, our pet fire-breathing dragon say.

"Thanks, Darwin." I say popping up on my elbows as Darwin walks out of my bed room. I look out my window to see the sun rising. I have to get up early so that I can get Bridget up. I get dressed into my pink gown and place my flower crown on long wavy brown hair.

I walk down the hall to go and get Princess Bridget up. I walk into her huge room and stand beside her bed. I'm about to shake her awake when I think of a better idea. I kick my pink high heels off and jump into her bed.

"Get up sleeping beauty!" I yell jumping on her bed. "It's time for the princess to get up!" She rolled over and blinked at me. Then she threw her pillow at me.

"Can't you ever wake me up like a normal person!" Bridget groaned.

"Well," I say. "We all know I'm not normal, but you love me anyways." I get off her bed and slip my shoes back on. "Come on. We have to make you look like a princess now."

As a lady-in-waiting, I take it upon myself to get up and help the princess get ready. Since she is my best friend, I personally think I have the easiest job in the castle. I help her button her light green dress. Then I brush her blonde hair and put it half up, half down. I finished it with her beautiful crown.

Once I finished, Bridget had to go get her sister, Darcy, so I went to the library room to continue on my new book.

"Maddie!" I hear Bridget calling walking towards me with Darwin at her side. "Maddie, mom said that we could take Darwin out. We can look at the peasants trying to climb the wall!" She started laughing. I joined in. No one could ever get over that wall, it's way to high. Some peasants are just ignorant sometimes.

Darwin brought us to look at the peasants trying to climb the fence. It was beyond funny. They were yelling at each other and tripping. Once the guards got to them, Darwin took us to the interrogating room.

When we got there princess Emily was already on her seat. "Hello, princess." I say giving her a little curtsey.

"Hey, Maddie." Emily says. I sit beside her and Bridget sits in the other side.

The interrogation was short. Same stuff, peasants denying they are spies, begging for entrance into our kingdom. We denied them.

Bridget and I walk to the garden. It's one of our favorite places to hang and talk.

"I don't understand why some peasants are so ignorant! They should know the princess well enough to know she's not stupid." I say sitting on the edge of the fountain.

"Yeah." Bridget says rolling her eyes. "I don't..."
