Chapter 5

Princess Emily's P.O.V.

Ugh. Long day. First, I have to deal with the stupid peasant spies from HER kingdom. Then, we have to have a meeting about what we're going to do about HER. And lastly, I was pranked by my pet dragon and my daughter's lady in waiting. I need to relax.

I decided I'd take my unicorn, Nigel, for a ride. I walked to the stables and got him out. He's my unicorn. He also talks.

"Hey Nigel, we're taking a long ride. Is that okay?" I asked him. He's getting kinda old and can't go for very long.

"Of course, my princess" he answered.

"If you get tired, we'll come back."

"Thank you, Princess."

I grabbed my purple cape with a hood over it. We were going through the kingdom with no guards. Not all the peasants here are good.

We rode for a while. It was good to get my mind off things. I needed a break.

Just when I had finally relaxed, Darwin showed up.

"Princess! Princess! Come quick! An enemy has entered the kingdom! Hurry! The guards are holding him until you get there to give them orders!" Darwin exclaimed.

"Give us a ride. Nigel seems tired" I said. Darwin lowered his wing and we climbed on. We headed for the west side of the kingdom. That's the side closest to The Land of Almost Here. So it's one of THEM.

Darwin landed and I rode off. The guards were trying to hold the enemy.

"Excuse me, am I interrupting something?" I asked. They all stopped and the guards bowed.

"Bow before your princess" one said and forced the enemies' head down.

"Let me see the face of the intruder " I ordered. They let his head up and it was a familiar face.

"Nathan? Is that you?" I asked.

"Emily? Is it really you? Are you really one of the ones in charge?" He asked.

"Yes. It's me. Guards, let him go. He means no harm."

"But he could be a spy. Princess-" one guard started.

"He means no harm. Now let him go" I stated in a firm voice. They obliged and walked away.

"Thanks" he said.

"Why are you here?" I asked. I got off Nigel and walked to him crossing my arms.
