Chapter 9

Princess Emily's P.O.V.

I decided it would be nice to give Nathan a tour of the palace. Well, not the whole thing. It's too big to see everything in one day. And I figured he might want to know how to get around.

"Okay, this is our last stop. This is the throne room. The king and queen are in here. If I was you, I'd just hush until they speak to you. Wait here" I said. I walked in and saw that everyone was in there. They didn't look too happy. Well, they can get over it.

"Where is this peasant you've brought into my palace?" The Queen asked.

"First, he's not a peasant, he's a prince-"

"In this kingdom he is a peasant. No acceptions!" The Queen interrupted. Whoa! Someone's feisty.

"Okay sorry. He's outside" I said.

"Go get him!" I nodded and walked to get him.

"Come on. And ignore everyone's faces. They're just being annoying" I said as I grabbed his arm and brought him in. He bowed and stood before everyone. I took my spot on my throne.

"Nathan of The Land of Almost Here, what can you tell us about this war that is supposedly harping?" The King asked.

"Well, your majesty, Queen Taylor plans to attack in ten days with our entire army. She plans to kill everything and everyone except Princess Emily and Prince Harry. She wants to make Prince Harry her king and she wants to torture Princess Emily. She also wants to destroy the palace and expand her kingdom" he said. We all sat in silence for a moment.

"If what you say is true, then The Royal Ball will be three days before" Liam pointed out.

"Yeah, there we could tell them about this war" Danielle added.

"Oh yeah, that's gonna go well. 'Hello peasants. There will be a war in three days so I suggest you pack up and get the hell out of here'" Zayn said.

"Hush! We don't tell them like that!" Perrie exclaimed.

"Everyone shut up!" Louis exclaimed. "We will tell them at the ball. For now, only people inside the palace wall knows. The guards will need extra training. Have them start today. And you," he said pointing at Nathan, "you better be telling the truth. If anything happens before the tenth day, it's on you. Understand?"

"Yes, your majesty" he said and bowed.

"Good. Now leave my presence" he said shooing him away. "Princess Emily will show you to your room."

"Well, that went...well" I said as Nathan and I left.

"How was that well? They all wanted to kill me!" Nathan exclaimed.

"It actually went better than the usual."

"What's the usual?"

"Usually, when a peasant has to come before all of us, it doesn't go very well. It just, I can't really explain but it's bad."

"Dang. Remind me not to get on their bad sides. Oh wait, I already am." We started laughing. It's funny because its true.

"Well, here we are. Your room is two hallways away from mine if you need me. Oh, and Christine is next door" I said.

"Thanks" he said.

"You should ask her."

"What? Who?"

"Christine. Ask her to the ball. I know you like her."

"No I don't. And even if I did, no one wants me there."
