Lady-In-Waiting Maddie's P.O.V.

Since I am not part of the Royal Family, I don't get a big entrance. So Holden and I have to go to the main ball room area to wait for them.

"You look stunning." Holden says as we walk to the ballroom.

"Thank you." I say blushing. "You don't look half bad yourself." Half bad was an understatement. He looked wonderful! He wore a black tux that fit perfectly, and his hair was in his natural curls.

We get in the ballroom with about a minute to spare. Everyone is anxiously waiting for the royal family. When the music starts I know it's time.

Bridget and Ryan go first. Bridget holds Darcy. Everyone is quite because it's polite. The music plays as they walk step by step. They look like they were made to stand beside each other, they just look amazing. Bridget stands in front of her throne with Ryan beside her. Next is Zayn and Perrie, then so on and so on until our Queen Louis and King Eleanor. Once they get in front of their thrones, they all sit down in unison.

After a quick introduction the music plays and the party starts. Holden and I try to start dancing when a peasant comes up to me.

"Lady-In-Waiting?" She asks. She looks about 7 and is wearing a worn down purple dress.

"Yes, darling?" I ask bending down.

"You are a very nice person and one day I want to be like you." She say.

"Keep believing and anything is possible." I say smiling. She hugs me and runs off.

"She was cute." Holden says smiling.

"Yes, she was." I smile also.

"Now may I have the pleasure of dancing with a Lady-In-Waiting?" He asks giving a small bow.

"Yes, you may have that pleasure." I give a curtsy.

He grabs my hand and places it on his shoulder. Then he wraps his arms around my waist and we sway to the music.

He looks down into my eyes and holds my gaze. "How did I get this pleasure of escorting you?" He asks.

"You're just lucky." I smile back.

"Very lucky." He says leaning his head closer and closer to mine. I close my eyes and can feel his breathe.

"Hey, Maddie!" Darwin yells from beside me. I let out a small screech and jump out of Holden's arms. We both blush. "Oh, sorry. Was I interrupting something?" Darwin asks. "Never mind, no big deal. But guess what? I'm the bouncer!" Darwin shows off his vest and tie to us.

"Very nice Darwin." I say a little aggravated. I was so close.

"Thank you!" Darwin says grinning. "Well, I'm off now. I have many other people to show and I have to bounce. Have a good night!" Darwin yells running off.

I look at Holden and offer a small apologetic smile. He laughs. "It's okay. I love Darwin."

"Me to!" I say.

"Maddie!" I hear Bridget say running to me dragging Ryan behind her. "How was the big entrance?"

"As always, wonderful!" I say smiling hugely.

"Thank you, thank you." Bridget says. "We try!" She looks at Ryan. He smiles at her.

"Do you want to dance?" Ryan asks Bridget.

"Yes, I would love that." She says winking at me and grabbing his hand.

Holden and I start dancing again and something catches my eye.

"Really?" I hear Christine ask.

"It's true." Nathan says smiling at her. "It might sound crazy but I wouldn't lie to you."

Christine laughs. A good genuine laugh that she doesn't do to much since she is always working. "Thank you for escorting me to the ball. I believe that I needed a break from the library."

"You are welcome. The library is great and everything, but nothing beats spending time like this." Nathan says looking at her. I turn away because I don't want her to think I'm spying on them.

"What were you looking at?" Holden asks.

"Christine." I say smiling. "I think she might have actually found someone that she really enjoys."

"That's good." Holden says. "Everyone deserves someone like that. Even you." He laughs.

"And you." I smile back.

"I don't think you need to worry about me." Holden says grinning.

"And why's that?" I ask.

"Because." He leans closer to me.

"Because why?" I whisper. He slowly closes the gap between us. Then in answer, he kisses me.
