A/N Hey, happy 2016! That still feels weird to say. Thank you guys so much for 16.5 thousand reads, that's crazy! PLEASE READ- IMPORTANT I'm going away on Tuesday and I won't be back until the 26th. This means no updates. I will try to write on my flights but my flight there is at 4am so no guarantees. I meant to pre-write some chapters in preparation for this but I've been crazy busy this past week and haven't had a chance. I'm really sorry but that's just how things have turned out.

Dan and I walked hand in hand through the streets of London. We barely payed attention to where we were going; we knew exactly where we were headed. Behind us the sun was just beginning to set over the city. It was the 21st of January and our one year anniversary. It was crazy to think that one year ago I finally asked Dan out after liking him for seven years. We were on our way to have a picnic in that very park actually. It was Dan's idea and I loved it. I was carry the basket by my side, with my little surprise hidden in the bottom.

I really hoped that he'd like it.

We made it to the park and sat down, all the way at the back under the trees, the same place I'd asked Dan out. We sat and ate and talked and ate (so much food) and the entire time I was admiring how the sunset made Dan look even more amazing. He caught me staring several times but I didn't care, he was my boyfriend, I was allowed to stare. It was beginning to get dark by the time I decided to give Dan his surprise. Still chatting I reached into the basket and pulled out the small wrapped box.

"I thought we weren't getting each other anything!" he exclaimed as I placed the box in his lap.

"I know," I said, a guilty smile on my face. "But this is different." After giving me an annoyed glare for a few more seconds his curiosity won him over and he tore off the wrapping and opened the small box. His eyes went wide before turning confused. He carefully lifted out the small silver ring, turning it over in his palm.

"'I know?'" he read questioningly. I smiled and slipped mine out of my pocket. Mine was an identical ring to Dan's however mine had 'I love you' engraved on it. Dan's expression turned mushy and he hugged me fiercely.

"They're promise rings. Do you like it?" I asked tentatively.

"I love it." he whispered. He turned it over in his hand again and smiled. On the inside of both rings were our names. I slipped mine on and he did his before we intertwined our hands. I couldn't stop smiling and it seemed that neither could Dan. After simply sitting for a little while enjoying each others presence we decided to head home. We were around the corner from our apartment building when the heavens decided to open up and it suddenly poured with rain. We stopped for a second, shocked by the sudden cold. I couldn't help but burst out laughing though at Dan's expression. After a few second he joined me.

We must have looked like complete lunatics, two freakishly tall "emo" guys laughing their asses off on the pavement in the middle of a rain storm. We pulled ourselves together and raced home, charging through our front door sopping wet. We stopped in the hall way and caught our breath. We looked at each other and started giggling again. We were completely soaked. I suddenly wrapped my arms around Dan's waist and pulled him in close. He smiled and we shared a slightly soggy kiss.

"I love you." I whispered. Dan smiled even bigger.

"I know."

A/N I know its short! But I didn't know how to make it longer without waffling. Also the second part of this is another smut but you don't have to read it. No idea when it'll be up either so, sorry. Those rings are their promise rings btw
