A/N I have no idea where this came from and I want to apologise in advance.
Dan's POV
I was standing in the kitchen sipping my coffee. I heard Phil's bedroom door slam and I walked out into the hall to investigate.
"Hey," I greeted, smiling. Phil looked at me with an unreadable expression before looking away and brushing past me. It felt like a kick to the gut. "Phil?" I asked, trying not to let my voice shake. He ignored me again and went downstairs. I quickly followed him.
"Phil, what are you doing?" I questioned, trying to get a response out of him. He suddenly spun around and pinned me with a look. Cold dread settled in my stomach as I saw a mixture of anger and disgust written on his face.
"Leave me alone. I don't want anything to do with you." he spat. My brain struggled to accept this as he turned to leave.
"Wait-" I said, placing a hand on his shoulder. He lashed out, spinning around and knocking me into the wall.
"I'm sick of your shit!" he yelled. I was frozen in place as he stormed out of the door.
No.
I bolted after him. I quickly made it onto the street. It was late at night and raining heavily. Glancing up and down the road I saw that Phil had somehow already gotten to the end of the bock. I raced toward him, yelling his name. I was about halfway when he glanced over his shoulder at me. Turning back he began to cross the street. I heard screeching and quickly glanced up the street again.
Time seemed to slow down as the car barrelled towards Phil.
I tried to scream a warning but my voice was stuck. I shut my eyes from the impact and the next thing I knew I was on my knees next to a broken and bloodied Phil. I cradled him in my arms and sobbed.
"Please don't leave." I whispered. I didn't care that he'd been so cold and cruel earlier, I couldn't live without him. I knew though, that he was already gone. "Don't leave me."
I felt bystanders grabbing at me but I refused to move. They were saying things to me but I didn't know and didn't care what.
"Don't go," I mumbled. Slowly the people's words filtered into my brain.
"It'll be okay," was repeated over and over and I wanted to scream at them. It wasn't okay. The voices got louder though, merging into one, and everything began fading. I tried to hold onto Phil but he began to fade too.
A jolt went through me and my eyes snapped open. Panting heavily I shakily took in my surroundings. I was in my bedroom, late at night. The rain was real, hammering on my window. There were arms around me and a very alive Phil whispered to me.
"It's okay, Bear." he murmured, rubbing my back gently. "It's just a nightmare." I turned and flung myself at him, clinging to him as though my life depended on it.
"Please don't leave," I whimpered.
"Not if the sky fell down." he replied. I wanted to smile at his random anecdote but I was still too shaken. He seemed to notice this and his expression morphed back into concern. "Do you want to have a shower? It might help you calm down." he asked gently. I became aware of how sticky I was and a hot shower sounded very appealing. I didn't trust my legs however and I didn't want to be separated from Phil. He seemed to read my mind though and picked me up bridal style, carrying me through to the bathroom. Setting me down he helped me out of my pyjamas and quickly shed his own before pulling me under the hot spray. I felt my tension start to melt as he began to wash me.
"I'm so lucky to have you," I murmured, turning to face him. Phil gave me a disbelieving look before shaking his head slightly. "What?" I asked curiously, worry forming in the pit of my stomach once again. He smiled and pulled me into a hug, resting his forehead one mine.
"I'm the lucky one, you noodle." he replied.
A/N I promise that next weeks will be happy and fluffy. In the meantime have a cookie 🍪
