I didn't know how to answer.
It should have been easy. I should have simply agreed, protecting Caden as well as my loyalty. She was just a game to me after all. However when I pictured her face, her perfect violet eyes and her small, slim figure the decision was not clear in the slightest.
It was actually quite difficult.
Through my inner battle Ronald had stayed quiet, shockingly not uttering a word. His lips were pursed and an eyebrow raised in question. It was the most quiet I had ever seen him in my entire life.
And it was disconcerting.
Because I also had to take Ronald in account when making my decision. As annoying as he was, I strangely cared about him. And in my heart I knew that if I messed with his sister, I would lose him as a friend. I let out a long sigh as I made my decision, holding out my hand in front of me.
"Deal." I said flatly, no emotion present. He took my hand and shook once before releasing it, nodding briskly in agreement. We then went back to eating, awkward silence settling between us.

I was at my locker after lunch, getting my books for class, when a loud wack startled me. I dropped my sketchbook heavily, the pages opening wide and spilling out all over the hallway floor. Panic ran through my system, as all my drawings spread on the dirty floor. I cursed as I ran to pick them up, narrowly saving them all from being ruined. As I shoved them back into their folder I heard a chuckle that reminded me of the culprit. Eyes narrowed, I turned to yell at them, almost groaning in annoyance when I saw who it was.
Summer was leaning against my locker, an amused expression on her face. She was blocking my entry, barring me from grabbing my art pencils. I stood, one hip jutted out with a hand on top of it and my foot tapping impatiently as I waited for her to move. She smirked teasingly, not budging from her place.
"Did you need something?" She asked innocently, her smirk giving away her mocking. I almost made a flirty remark back, but remembered the deal and stopped right in the middle. Instead I settled for being rude.
"Move. I don't have time for your fucking games." She rolled her eyes and stepped aside not afraid, just realizing my attitude. I didn't look at her as I reopened my locker and rooted for my pencils.
"So you coming to our awe-some lesson this week?" She asked sarcastically, obviously showing her displeasure in the class. I pictured the ripped jeans she wore last lesson and almost smirked. But I held it back and ignored her, not responding to her attempts at conversation.
"Is that a yes?" She asked, irritation obvious in her tone. I still didn't respond. "So it's a no then?" I still didn't respond. "What the fuck is your problem?" she spat, slight hurt in her voice. I didn't even look at her. Finally I found my art pencils, taking them out and slamming my locker. But before I could get away she gave an annoyed huff and grabbed my face. yanking it towards hers.
And kissing my lips roughly.
I almost gave in, my lips involuntarily melting into hers and heat running through my body. But when she wrapped her hands around me, pulling me closer, something inside me snapped. I pushed her away roughly and without a word I grabbed my books and turned to go to my next class, not even chancing a glance at her expression.
My heart hurt slightly. But as I practically ran down the hallway, everything a blur around me, I tried desperately to ignore it.
I was doing this for Caden.
