The lights flashed as bodies moved around me, sweaty and grinding to the heavy beat. The ground swayed as I danced, my eye sight blurry. I grabbed a random stranger and started grinding her, immediately getting a response.

She was pretty, from what I could see through my blurry vision, dark hair and doe eyed. All of a sudden a flash of violet eyes came into my mind making me drunkenly shove the girl away.

I needed more alcohol, needed to forget.

Stumbling towards the bar, almost face planting multiple times, I tried to erase her face from my brain. It was a strangely clear image despite the other murk currently muddling my head. When I got there I didn't even look at the bar tender, too focused on stopping the room from spinning.

"A b-beeer, please." I slurred at them, hearing their retreating footsteps. As soon as it was placed down I picked it up and gulped it down, confusion settling after it was finished. I shakily raised my fist in a 'threatening' gesture, a sneer on my face.

"What the hell was that? I ordered a beer you incompetent monkey." I couldn't see their face clearly, the blurring too obstructive. But I could tell they were short and female.

"That would be water." She said, amusement and worry both in her tone. "When customers can't stand they are cut off." I stood straight to make a point, ruining my attempted point when I swayed dramatically and had to grab onto the bar for support. She chuckled, the sound musical.

"Look monkey, if you don't give me alcohol I'll, I'll-" the room started spinning faster and the floor started getting closer.

"Lianna!" The bartenders voice yelled, faint and far away. A small outline of a person was soon leaning over me but it was too dark to make out any features. And with buzzing loud in my ears everything totally went black.

---

I woke with a pounding headache. Cursing, I tried to get up, failing as I slumped back in pain. With a defeated sigh I observed my surroundings, confused at where I was.

The room was small and musty, the air smelling like beer and ancient cigarettes. There were two beat up couches (one on which I was currently laying) and a small crate being used as a coffee table in the corner. I cringed as my hand hit something sticky and unidentifiable on the side of the couch. A throat was cleared behind me making me jump and then wince when pain shot through my head.

"How are you feeling?" Her voice said, making relief and panic run through my system. But I felt like I owed her a polite response, as I was not currently lying face down on the dance floor.

"Like I got hit by a truck." I answered, my voice raspy. She chuckled slightly and handed me two pills, getting up to get me a glass of water. Even in my rough state, I still shamelessly checked out how good she filled out her jeans.

"Summer, where am I? And how did you me here?" She handed me the cup and answered as I swallowed the pills.

"You came up to the bar, drunk off your face and wanting more alcohol. At first I found it humorous," A pained look came over her eyes, still beautiful even in the barely lit room. "It wasn't amusing anymore when you passed out on the floor." Guilt surged through me as I saw her worry, the worry that she quickly covered with a blank expression. "So I yelled at one of the guys I work with and asked him to carry you to the back room. That's where you are right now, the employee lounge." I grimaced as I glanced at the grimy room, disgusted at its dirty appearance.

"Just like the four seasons." I said sarcastically, making a genuine smile spread on her face. It made me involuntarily smile back. In response she took my hand, looking carefully into my eyes. I knew I should let go but something refused to let me. There was too much comfort emitting from her soft expression.

"Lianna go out with me." It was stated like a fact but I could tell by her face that it was meant to be a question. She wasn't demanding anything, and it was my own choice. I was about to refuse, let her down easy to honor the deal. But the hope in her eyes made me stop. Want ran through me along with shock, shock that I wanted to say yes. Finally I let out a relenting sigh before the answer slipped out of my mouth.

"Okay." She smiled brightly at my response, making me admire how pretty she was, before I propped myself up on the couch, leaning slowly towards her. For the first time I actually paused, waiting for her permission before kissing her. When she nodded slightly, a grin spreading on her face, I touched my lips softly to hers.

The kiss was slower than our other kisses, gentler and less rushed, but it somehow felt better.

It felt different.

When we finally parted she moved a piece of hair off my face and tucked it behind my ear, as I smirked at her blush. She then gently laid beside me and snuggled into my side, her tiny body easily fitting with mine on the large cushion.

In that very moment, her tiny body near mine and our fingers intertwined gently, I gave up. Worry ran through my system, dread knawing at my mind. But I couldn't fight her anymore.

I was tired of fighting.

So I mentally pushed away my fears and focused on her. I wrapped my arm around her possessively, making her move closer in response. Seeing how small she was next to me a confusing question arose in my mind.

"Hey Summer..." I started, curiousity in my tone. She looked up towards me, silently acknoledging that she was ready to answer my question. "If you're obviously not old enough to work here, how did you get the job?" She smirked smugly, chuckling slightly.

"Honestly Lianna. Obviously you know what a fake ID is." She said bemusedly, motioning to my current state. I nodded my head in agreement, chuckling at the irony. I then let out a contented sigh as I held my girlfriend closely in my arms.
