"Bowling?" My brother asks."I think you should go," my dad says at the same time.
We were having dinner and I explained the plans I had with Damien to them.
"Really?" I ask a little too excited.
"Yeah dad, really?" My brother looks at him annoyed.
"Yes, I think it would be good for you to finally go out and make friends," he chuckles.
"I do have friends," I scoff.
"Name one," he challenges me.
"David," I smirk.
"Your brother does not count," he deadpans.
"Okay, so I don't have any friends but who needs them anyways," I shrug.
"You do," both my dad and David say at the same time.
"Whatever," I grumble and continue eating my food.
"If she's going, then I'm going too," my brother stands to put his plate in the sink.
"Don't you have a test or something better to do than stalk your sister and her date," My dad raises an eyebrow.
"W-What? I'm not stalking them. I'm just chaperoning," he defends himself.
"And it's not a date," I cut in.
"Well if it's not a date then their should be no problem going without your brother and I can trust you," dad shrugs.
"But what if something happens?" I pout.
"Yeah, she needs me," David agrees.
"No, no, Devoni can take care of herself and if their is a problem, I'm sure that friend of yours will help you," dad shakes his head.
"What if he rapes me?" I frown.
"I'm positive that won't happen," my dad chuckles
"You haven't even met the guy," David scoffs.
"You have and that's good enough for me, but make sure he comes in when he drops you off so I can meet my future son in law," my dad helps clean the table.
"Dad! I'm not dating the guy!" I complain.
"Fine, you keep saying that but I expect the guy to at least take you out more at least then maybe he can convince you," my dad grumbles.
I roll my eyes at my father. I sat in my seat with my food barely touched, my dad made a rule that if our plates were not cleared up then we couldn't get out of our seat, even if we had to go to the restroom we had to finish our food before we could leave. This was of course because of me, I refused to eat a lot of the times. I just wasn't hungry sometimes, but they didn't care because I needed it. So I was always the last one to leave the table and my dad was always in the living room so I couldn't throw my food away.
"Sweetheart, you need to eat. It's not healthy for you to starve yourself, your body needs the nutrients so you aren't weak," my dad kneels down next to me.
"I know dad, I'm just not hungry," I shrug.
"What did you eat for lunch?" he frowns.
"Uh- sandwich," I lie.
"Eat it all, I know you're lying to me Devoni. If you aren't eating at school then I'm going to have to serve you twice as much for diner so you can learn to stop lying to your father," he sighs disappointed.
