"Devoni you need to eat, how do you expect to get better?" David grumbles."I don't," I deadpan.
"Please just eat," he huffs.
I roll my eyes in response but eat the food anyway. David had already came back from dropping Damien off at school and he seemed to be in a better mood. He spent the whole day with me and made sure I took my medication and ate everything. I was still throwing up everything but I was more willing to eat now.
"David?" I get his attention.
"Yes," he asks.
"When are you going to ask Holly out?" I muse.
"W-what!" he looks at me alarmed.
"You heard me," I chuckle.
"How did you-"
"Know?" I finish for him.
"You are way too obvious, the both of you," I snort.
"The both of us?" He frowns.
"She likes you," I couldn't help but laugh a little because he was clueless.
"Really?" His eyes widen with realization.
"Yes," I try to control my laughter.
"I gotta go," he stands up abruptly.
He doesn't even give me a chance to say goodbye when he kisses my forehead goodbye and runs out the door.
I shake my head but smile anyways at how cute that was.
I continued trying to eat the fool that they considered food here when the door opens and in runs a little girl. She closes the door quickly and scrambles next to my bed.
"Um... Hello?" I try to look for her but I can't get out of bed.
Then a little head with blonde piggy tails pops at the side of my bed and the little girls curious eyes watch me carefully.
"Can I help you," I smile.
She nods no.
"Uh... My name is Devoni, what's yours?" I ask in hopes that maybe I can help her if she's lost.
"Bailey," she replies shyly.
"Well Bailey, are you lost?" I frown.
"N-no," she shakes her head.
"Do you need help with something?" I continue to frown.
"N-no, can I just stay here?" She asks.
"Sure," I frown at her strange request but shrug it off.
"So Bailey, how old are you?" I try to make conversation.
"S-six," she looks down to her feet.
"Would you like to sit up here with me?" I ask.
She looks at the bed for a second before nodding.
I lean over and pick her up. I place her by my legs so she has room to sit.
"Why are you in those," she points at the wires.
"I need them," I say.
"Why?" She tilts her head.
"They give me strength," I shrug.
"I like your hat, how did you get it that long?" She frowns when she sees the length of my purple long beanie.
