"Why do you stay out here?" Damien asks me.I had finally calmed down and Damien was sitting outside with me. He surprised me a little because boys usually don't like to deal with crying girls, like ever. I know this how? My dad and my brother. It's also how you get things ladies, just don't use it often and don't be too dramatic or else you're just plain annoying.
"It's uh nice, nobody bothers me out here," I sniff from my crying episode.
"Why do they treat you like that?"
"Honestly, I don't know but I've learned to live with it," I shrug.
"They shouldn't be treating you like that, it's wrong," he clenches his hands into a fist.
I don't say anything, I just nod and stay quiet.
"So will you let me protect you now?" he asks.
I nod 'No.'
"Why not?" he looks grave.
I just shrug.
"Say something please, I don't want to feel like I'm talking to myself," he pleads.
"Look, thanks for your help but no thanks," I sigh.
"No," he deadpans.
"What?" I look at him confused.
"I'm not going to give you a choice now, I'm going to protect you no matter what," he says darkly.
"Please just-"
"No! I'm sorry if you're uncomfortable but I can't let you go through this on your own, I am going to help you whether you like it or not," he growls.
"I can't stop you can I?" I sigh in defeat.
"No," he chuckles.
"Fine, it's true. I need you as much as I hate to admit it," I give in.
"Good," he smiles which brings a warm feeling to me.
"You look nice when you smile, You should do it more often," I smile back at him.
"Thanks, now come on," he stands up and offers his hand to help me up.
"Where are we going?" I frown.
"The nurse, duh," he looks at me skeptically.
"Oh, yeah," I say sheepishly when I remember what happened to my leg.
He pulls me up, when I wince he carries me bridal style.
"You don't have to do that," I say with a blank expression.
"Yes I do, your leg is bleeding and I will not have you walking on it in this condition," he scoffs.
I don't say anything to argue so he smirks and carries me to the nurses office.
'I am going to end up regretting this somehow, I don't know how but I will.'
...
"Ready?" Damien asks when I get out of my last class for the day.
"Yes," I nod and he slings an arm around me to help me walk.
We walk to the exit and I see a familiar black truck.
"Crap!" I hiss.
"What? What is it?" Damien looks at me worried.
"My brother is picking me up and I don't want him to find out about what happened," I panic.
