"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?"
Ryan's smile didn't waver. If anything, it got wider. Josh, on the other hand, took another step back. He winced under Brendon voice.
"There's no room! You're insane!" said Brendon. He gestured violently, his arms flapping. "He -- he hit on Lake!"
Tyler gave Josh a silent fist bump.
"No! No fist bumps!" Brendon buried his face in his hands. "Ryan. What the hell are you thinking?"
Ryan rose to his full height, inflating with a pompous determination.
"Josh here is Tyler's best bud," said Ryan. Tyler started to say something, but Ryan interrupted him, rolling his eyes. "Okay, fine. Josh is Tyler's 'bestie for life'. You disgust me. Anyway. Since Tyler is my bestie for life, it was my clear duty to invite Josh to come stay too."
"Tyler is not -- not -- Tyler is not your 'bestie for life'!" said Brendon, indignant. "What about me?! We're in the same band! We went to high school together! You live with me, for God's sake. Obviously I should be your --"
"My what?"
Brendon's lip twitched. "...Bestie for life."
It was almost impossible not to break into laughter. Tyler looked immensely pleased with himself. Josh looked like he wanted to disappear on the spot. I fidgeted.
"Well," said Ryan, a smirk curled at the edge of his lips. "Well. Well. Well. The truth comes out."
Brendon blinked. "What?"
"You're jealous of Tyler!"
"What? No! No, that's the dumbest thing I've ever -- oh my gosh. No. I'm not. I don't even know Tyler."
"Um, yes you do," said Ryan. "In case you've forgotten, you live together."
Tyler wiggled his eyebrows. Brendon glared.
"I am not jealous of Tyler."
"Okay, so you're jealous of me and Tyler's relationship," said Ryan.
"I have a girlfriend," said Tyler.
"Shhh," said Ryan, pressing a finger against Tyler's lips. "No words."
"I'm not jealous at all!" Brendon insisted, heat rising in his voice. "Okay?! That's not the issue here. The issue is there's not enough room for this many freaking people. I'm already camping out on the couch. This apartment has two bedrooms. Where is everyone supposed to --"
"Simple," said Ryan. "You and Lake can sleep together. The bed's big enough, and you two are certainly friendly enough. John --"
"Josh," said Tyler.
"Josh can sleep on the couch. And Tyler and I can share my bed." His voice dripped warmth as he glanced at Tyler.
Tyler blanched. "Uhh...you know, I'd be fine on the couch, really..."
"But we're bestie for life."
