Chapter 3

Well, technically I wasn't alone. I knew I was in the present of BLI top security. Which most likely included Korse, or as I like to call him Mr.Baldy. I remember him from when I was 6, he was the one who killed Poison. I have a special grudge against him for killing him. Then Kobra seeing his leader/brother die went on a rage and ended up getting shot as well. Fun Ghoul sacrificed himself so me and Jet Star could get away. It didn't help much because Jet Star got shot soon after. Then it was me. It's been that way ever since.

I can hear him stepping around me. I take out my blaster and spin slowly in a circle ready to shot at any second. I put on a brave face but I'm shaking with fear as anyone would.

"Well, haven't you grown up?"

His chilling voice sounds from behind me and I twirl around and shoot at nothing. (A/N I should probably mention the outpost is surrounded by a foresty thing) The wind blew through the tree catching his faint laugh.

"You're trying to be like, your little heros."

Turn. Shoot.

"A savior"

Turn. Shoot.

"Well you aren't"

Turn. Shoot. Turn. Shoot. Turn. Shoot.

"SHUT UP." I shout trying to block him out. I cover my ears.

"So full of anger and sadness."

I growl and point the gun again trying to spot where he is.

"You think you could have done something to stop them from dying."

I close my eyes. How did he know any of this?

"Well, you just stood there watching."

I try to keep myself from having a panic attack just at the thought of that day. I was already close enough to shutting down. I had to stay awake and fight these people. I had to stay alive. I have to be brave like Poison taught me.

"There wasn't much I could do. I was 6 remember that. You lost me for 10 years." I sneer.

"It doesn't matter how much time passes just that we have you now."

"But you don't! I'm still free with my gun. I am still winning."

"Not for long. There is one thing you can't live with again and that is being the death of one of your friends."

What was he talking ab- BRENDON..

"I don't have any friends." I say quickly.

"Oh really, who was that pale fellow then... no one?"

"He ran..."

"You underestimate the loyalty of your friends. Did you really think he would run?"
Then as if on cue a loud shout of surprise and pain came from my left.

"Brendon you shit head." I mutter "What makes you think I care?"

"Because you always care. You cared about those who no one cared about. You cared about the absent minds of the inhabitants of Battery City. You care about every single person back at the outpost. You make put on a tough girl act but you can't fool everyone and you most certainly cannot fool me."

The truth in his words stung and echoed throughout my head. I was going to have to make a decision. Make a run for it and protect myself, or I can go save my friend. Goddamnit why I can't I be coldhearted and conceded.

I move my foot in the direction of Brendon's shout, a blaster shot is heard and the chase is on. I start running as fast as I can, weaving in and out of the trees to try and loose them. We are shooting back and forth at each other. Honestly it was an unfair fight. There was 1 of me and like 5 of them. But I stood my own and shot down 2 of the 5, praising Kobra Kid for helping me practice my aim.

"BRENDON!!" I shout "BRENDON WHERE ARE YOU."

There's no response.

Suddenly, everything was in slow motion. I turned around and he was standing there. I lift my blaster but he's already shot. A burning pain, burst in my side and spreads like a wild fire throughout my body, paralyzing me.

I should probably explain a blaster. A blaster is like a normal hand gun, except not at all. The shot of a blaster completely paralyzes you for 20 minute and the pain is like, getting shot in the throat with a pistol 12 times, but triple that pain. A direct hit with a blaster kills you instantly and side hit, like mine, makes you suffer greatly.

So here I am, falling to the ground unable to do anything to help my pain. Looks like I'm pretty fucked.

The remaining masked men and baldy gather around me. My eyes involuntarily start to tear up.

"Look at you, so helpless, so much pain." He says shaking his head "Pick her up, she won't be walking for a while."

One of the masked men, no-so-gently picks me up off the ground and throws my over his shoulder. I squeak in pain.

They start to walk back to wherever they came from.

"Stop moving." Baldy stopped.

It became clear that there was someone else out in the woods.

"I suggest you put the girl down." A deep voice threatened.

"Who are you?" Baldy shouted.

Then the commotion started. The masked man behind us fell to the ground with a blaster shot in his back. The one holding me falls next. I groan in pain, which is blinding.

"We need to get out of here."
"But sir what about-"

"Well get her next time. GO!"

And they ran off. Thinking I was alone I close my eyes letting the darkness consume me. Right as I was falling into nothing, I felt myself being picked up gently, less painful this time. I crack open my eyes and see a somewhat familiar looking face staring back at me.

"It's actually you." I hear him mutter.

I try to mumble out something but I can't say anything because I fell deeply into the black abyss of sleep.

Who is this mystery person! Tell me who you think it is below!!!
