Party Poison pulls away from me. He looks me up and down, probably making sure I'm not hurt. I bite my lip, ready to follow him. He takes my hand and pushes me in front of them. The 5 of us start to make our way out of the building
No...
I could see the exit. Alarms were blaring. It was just ahead. Masks everywhere. We almost made it all the way there. But nothing good can last forever.
I woke then. The dream still fresh in my head. Remembering that night was something very traumatic for me. But it was irrelevant now that I knew they were alive, why was I remembering? I groan as my eyes adjust to the bright morning light. I sit up seeing a sleeping Tyler a few feet away from me, facing the other way. I think back to the night before. After the conversation we both just laid down and drifted off to sleep. God, my back hurts, never sleep on a roof.
I stood up, stretching my back and kicking out my feet, trying to start the circulation back up into my feet. I squinted my eyes. Have you ever done that? Like when you squint your eyes, and your eyelashes make everything look just a little not right. Then you get just enough light from just the right side and you find, you're not who you're supposed to be? It's like seeing life from a whole new perspective.
I looked over at Tyler, rolled up in a fetal position. I walked over and kicked him slightly, trying to wake him. He groaned and rolled away from me onto his stomach.
"Tyler!" I grumble.
"Whaat?" He whined.
I smirked and nudged him again "Get up!" I insisted. He swatted at my persistent leg and moaned loudly.
"5 more minutes!"
"You're on a fucking roof, now get up so we can get ready to move out." I turned from him, starting to the window. He rolled back over onto his back, letting out the longest whale noise humanly possible.
I turned and put my hands on my hips sassily "You quite done now?"
He smiled at me "Yup!" and with that he hopped up. He rushed past me, walking backwards as he went.
"You coming."
"You're going to fall off the roof and I won't care."
Tyler turned just as he reached edge. He yelped and jumped backwards away from the edge. I laughed loudly at him as I walked past him. I reached my arm down and swung back into the house. As I landed, a sleep-ridden Josh. He blinked at me, smirking from his spot, against the wall.
"You two have fun last night? Yeah, it's cool I don't need friends." He teased as I walked over to him. I reached my hand out to help him up, rolling my eyes.
"It was a lovely night, I wasn't just going to waste it" I say.
Josh chuckled and walked over to the window. I leaned against the wall. This all seemed very familiar. Camping out wherever we can, hiding from BLI. It was like history was repeating itself, I just hoped the outcome wouldn't be as gruesome. I watched as Tyler came in through the window and joked with Josh. They didn't deserve to be hurt because of me, none of them did. Oh... Hayley... she could be dead for all I know. I never was the most cooperative with her. All the people at the outpost... they could be all be dead. All trying to protect me from being captured by BLI for some unknown destiny that no one ever bothered to tell me.
"They should be here around noon, so let's get ready to go." Tyler's voice broke through my thoughts. I nodded and moved away from the wall.
"How's your nose by the way?" Josh asked me. My nose? Oh! My nose! I almost forgot that he had broken my nose yesterday. That seemed like so long ago.
"Oh, it's fine actually. What did you do to it?"
"A new remedy D wanted me to try out. Supposed to heal injuries faster. Seem to be working." He explained.
I shrugged and looked out the window. I sure hope to God that Ghoul is okay. I mean yeah he can't die because BLI hasn't been taken down and I'm still in danger, but still. He could be captured, or tortured, or worse!
It's all my fault. All of the Killjoy's wouldn't be bound to helping me for the rest of their lives if it weren't for me. I wish I could go back in time and make my mom take back her curse on them. My mom has always been somewhat of a mystery to me. She died when I was very young, putting the responsibility of taking care of my on the Killjoys. They were only teenagers. They couldn't take care of themselves much less a child. I always wondered what about me, was so special that my mother's dying breath was her asking for my protection. I can't imagine me being worth that much.
"So did y'all enjoy each other's presence last night?" Josh teased. Tyler scoffed, swatting playfully at him.
"C'mon Dog breath! You know me!" Tyler retorted playfully. Any sign of the Tyler I talked too last night was gone. Any sign that the Blurryface was in his head, was gone. It was like he was a completely different person.
"Nah, we just looked at the pretty stars!" I smirked.
"Yeah, but you're the prettiest star." Tyler laughed winking, playfully.
We got back and forth like this until Josh glances outside. His eyes widen in excitement. He rushes down the broken stairs.
"Josh!" I called after him. I leap over to the window and see them. Fun Ghoul. Completely alive and well, helping Doctor D in his wheel chair, coming towards us. Tyler looked over my shoulder and squealed. I can't help but giggle at his noise, on top of my excitement.
I push past Tyler. Rushing down the stairs mimicking Josh's actions from before, I follow him outside, going to meet them halfway. Ghoul smiles when he sees me coming out from the house. God, I'm so glad he's smiling.
"Ghoul!" I shout as I bury my face in his chest, throwing my arms around his .He wraps his arms around my waist firmly, protectively.
"You're okay right? No one followed you? These guys didn't try anything?" He asked pulling away and looking me up and down for any injuries.
"I'm fine! What about you? How did you get out without being seen? Or hurt?" I ask seeing he's not bleeding visibly.
"There's an underground base under the shack. We hid there last night. We wanted the 3 of you to get out and get safe instead of risking being caught." He explained.
I sighed and looked over at Josh and D.I looked over my shoulder and saw Tyler standing in the distance waiting for us. He waved us over to him, smiling without teeth. Just then D looks over at us and grimaces.
"Why have a lot to talk about."
