Lindsey’s eyes fluttered open and he reached out to find Demi. Frowning, he realised that the space beside him was empty. He sat up and looked around the room; empty, with no sign of anyone else. Lindsey’s ears pricked up; there was someone downstairs. He pulled a pair of jeans on and bounded down the stairs ad walked into his kitchen, expecting to find Demi there. But she wasn’t there. He walked around the lower floor two times, with still no sign of Demi. “The studio?” Lindsey asked himself. As he walked through to his home studio, as he go nearer he could hear an acoustic guitar being played quietly. Lindsey opened the door quietly and found Demi sitting in the middle of the floor, playing the guitar skilfully. When Lindsey was about to walk into the room, Demi began to sing.
“Before I fall
Too fast
Kiss me quick
But make it last
So I can see
How badly
This will hurt me
When you say goodbye.”
Lindsey crept into the room and stood behind Demi. As she continued to sing, he quietly turned one of his recording machines on.
“But you’re so hypnotizing
You’ve got me laughing
While I sing
You’ve got me smiling
In my sleep
And I can see this unravelling
Your love is where I’m falling
But please don’t
Catch Me.”
“I knew you were good. But I didn’t know you were that good.” Lindsey said, making his presence known. Demi jumped at the sound of his voice. He switched the recording machine off and helped her up. “And I didn’t know you played.” He said, taking the guitar from her. She chuckled uneasily. “It’s not something I want people to know about.” Demi said, watching him place the guitar back on its stand. “Why? You’re really talented.” Lindsey walked back over and wrapped his arms around her waist. “In more ways than one.” He said seductively, kissing her. Demi smiled through the kiss. “You’re quite talented yourself.” She replied, putting her arms around his neck. They rested their foreheads against each other’s and closed their eyes. “I’m really glad we finally did that last night, Dem. And I’m really happy you felt comfortable enough to do that for the first time with me.” “To be honest, you were making it very difficult to keep myself from throwing myself at you.” Lindsey laughed. He kissing her forehead and led her by the hand into the kitchen. “Breakfast? I can’t cook but I can order.” Lindsey produced a couple of takeaway menus. Demi chuckled. “Show me where everything is – if you know – and I’ll get started.” Lindsey showed her around the kitchen and Demi got to work making breakfast. “I’ll be right back.” Lindsey said. “Okay!” Demi replied as Lindsey left the room. He went into his studio, shutting the door behind him. He picked up the phone and dialled Richard’s number.
