A New Day

My eyes flutter open... I realize I'm still in the couch from last night. I faintly remember the conversation between Loki and I.

I told him about my conversation with Odeon, and my concerns for our future together.

I sit up slowly taking in the room. The morning sun casts shadows across the room. The clock on the wall reads 8:47 AM. My mom must be home. I peel my coat off and walk to the front door.

Yep, her car is out front. I run upstairs quietly. I head into my room. My walls are a deep purple, my bed is a grey colour. I have sparking lights across my room that glow during the night. My beautiful white antique desk stands out brightly against the dark wall. Mom and I had picked that out last year before me re-decorated.

I have a 15 minute shower before quickly changing. I decide on a red long sleeve shirt and bluejeans.

I head downstairs to the kitchen for breakfast- I can not miss breakfast. No way. My best friend Kayla always says, "if Aura doesn't eat - she's like an angry bear" and she's right.

I decide to make crepes. I open the fridge and start mixing the ingredients. Once I have the batter ready, I make enough for my self and cover the rest of it. Then I put it in the fridge. Once my mom wakes up she she can just cook the rest of them.

I sit down at the kitchen island to eat then and man they are sooooo good. I stuff the rest in my mouth and after 5 crepes I'm full.

My phone buzzes on the counter and I look to see who it's from. Kayla texts me :

Hey babe, when should I come over to get ready?! 😘

Get ready? What does she mean?

Ummm, what are you talking about? I ask.

Hello?! Loki is having a HUGE party tonight? We need to get ready for it?!

What? Since when?!! I saw him last night and he never mentioned it at all.

Oh I hadn't heard... Do I have to go?....

This isn't going to end well......

YES!!!!!!! I am your best friend, you are morally obligated to come with me? What if I got mugged? You would be responsible!!!

I chuckle, only Kayla would come up with this stuff.

First of all we live in a town of our pack members so we would find you easily?!!!! And secondly relax, I'll go.

YAY!!!!!! I'll be there at 7 ish?

I shut my phone off and decide to go outside. I make my way to the back yard and see the tire swing I used to play on when I was a kid.

Deciding it could be fun I walk over and hop on it and spin myself. Since I'm taller than when I was a kid I can use my legs to spin really fast.

I start laughing and smiling! This is so much fun!!

Mid swing I see a person standing at the tree line. I only see a tall male figure with dark jeans and boots. I almost scream. I didn't even know anyone was there!!!!

I stick my feet out immediately to stop myself. I look up to see who's standing there. The person slowly emerges from the trees.

Loki grins mischievously at me, knowing he's been caught snooping.

"What the hell is with you sneaking up on me?!!" I ask annoyed. I begin to relax though, it's only Loki. Not a serial killer.... I have to stop watching criminal minds.

"I just wanted to come and invite you personally to my party tonight " he says with a wink.

"Yeah I heard from Kayla..." I say awkwardly.

He notices and frowns "I'm not your enemy Aura, you can talk to me" he says frustrated.

I blush, "I know Loki. I'm just really stressed out lately with everything. I feel so much pressure with my change happening soon." I admit slowly.

He relaxes a little and the corners of his mouth curl. "I'll be here for you! Don't worry okay?" He tried to console me.

I nod and even smile a little.

"Well I'll see you tonight, at my party.... The one you can't ignore me at" he says boldly. Sending me a smirk.

"Okay Casanova, I'll be there" I say while sending him off.

He chuckles and begins to walk away. He planned this whole party so he could see me. Bastard. He knows Kayla wouldn't let me miss it.

"Wear something short and tight" he yells over his shoulder. I yell for him to screw off and he laughs hysterically all the way until he reaches the forest line.

I make my way inside and spend time with my mom. We laugh and watch movies together. We go through a whole bag of party mix. After dinner my moms heads to work and I watch her leave.

Then Kayla's white civic pulls in my drive way and I start to smile.

He wants something short and tight? 'Wait and see what I'll wear Loki' I think mischievously.
