"Yes mom, It's me" I say with tears forming in my eyes.
She gasps on the other end of the line.
"Oh my goodness! I haven't heard from you at all! I thought maybe he was hurting you or being horrible and I was ready to come over there and Kick his a-"
"Woah! Mom calm down!" I hastilly interrupt her before things get heated.
"Damon isn't a bad person at all, that night was just - it was not a good night okay?" I insist.
The line goes quiet for what seems like a while. Just as I was about to ask her what was wrong she squeals so loud I almost drop the phone.
"YOU LIKE HIM DON'T YOU??????!!!!!!"
"MOM! I thought you hated him like two seconds ago?" I say confused.
"I did, until I heard you talking about him"
"Well, he's amazing mom! I feel so damn lucky!" I gush while smiling. She cheers on the other end of the line.
"You love him don't you?!"
Her question throws me off guard, making heat race to my cheeks.
"Yes" I ansswer as confidently as my voice can manage. She cheers and I roll my eyes, this woman is so bipolar.
"So when is the wedding?" She asks with, non-subtle hinting in her voice.
"Mom. seriously?" How has she moved on so quickly?
She huffs on the other end of the line. I can just imagine her standing there with her hand on her hip.
"I am your mother young lady!"
Here we go.
"Mom I know! Relax okay? We havent talked about a wedding yet, It's pretty soon t-"
"NO IT'S NOT!!! Has he marked you yet?"
My cheeks are flaming right now. She knows marking comes with sex....
"Mom! Of course not !" I say as quietly as I can.
She laughs like i'm the cutest thing alive.
"Okay hunny, just pleasze use protection. I don't need to become a grandma anytime soon!" She jokes.
Uh-oh.
The line goes deadly silent.
"Hunny what's wrong?" She asks with a slight edge to her voice.
"Mom, please don't be mad"
She Sucks in a shocked gasp. "ARE YOU PREGNANT?"
"What? no no NO!!" I yell trying to calm her hectic breathing on the other end of the line.
"Good, now EXPLAIN!" She yells the last part.
I slowly explain everything, from when I first got here, to the ball and then meeting Remi. I tell her about how much I love both of them and how I couldn't picture my life to be any different now.
"Wow" she says in a shaky voice.
"Mom what's wrong?"
She sniffles and laughs quietly.
"My baby is growing up"
"Mommy, I will always be your little girl" I say in my cutest voice. She laughs and I can tell she stopped crying.
"using mommy really worked in your favor" She jokes.
I laugh and we talk about a bunch of things that have changed. I finally manage to build up courage and ask her about him.
