Oh how I wanted to punch her. How dare she lock me inside. What do I do? How am I supposed to get to Garren and Andrea now? I pulled more on the door even though I knew it wouldn't open no matter how hard I tried. I kicked the door in frustration. "Well, hello there miss Scarlet," said a voice. I froze with fear. Do I dare turn around? I peaked over my shoulder to see a dark figure in the shadows with glowing red eyes. The figure began to walk toward me. I could tell it was the figure of a woman. When she stepped out of the shadows I growled in disgust. There before me stood a woman in a long black dress with red eyes. They matched her short red hair perfectly. "Hello Laura," I hissed. She laughed a little. "Now Scarlet don't be like that. Oh should I call you Scarlet? Would you prefer Rylie?" I clenched my fists. "You demon," I shouted. "What do you want?" She smirked and began to walk in a circle around me. "Oh you foolish little girl," she said. "I think you already know what I want." I tried to move away from her but she grabbed me by my wrist and threw me against the wall.

"And this time," she jeered, "your precious guardian angel won't be able to get to you. What did he call you again? His rose?" I could feel my cheeks getting red hot. "And how you are his dear Rylie? Who is he fooling?" She laughed and then punched me in the stomach. "Who could ever love you?" She smirked and then continued to beat me up. I just stood there and let her. Laura then aimed for my leg and kicked me causing me to come crashing to the ground. A tear ran down my face as I lay there. Maybe she'a right. Who could ever love me? Then memories came flooding back to my brain. Memories of the first time I met Garren. How he gave me a rose. How he would smile at me in the garden. How he would meet me outside at night. How he protected me. How he kissed me under the willow tree and for the first time in my life someone told me they loved me. Garren did love me and I loved him. Laura was just trying to get inside my head and I wasn't about to let her. I sat up slowly. My head was down and my hair covered my face. Laura moved back and stared at me. "Had enough?" she spat. "Why don't you call your boyfriend? Oh that'a right. He doesn't even care about you. You are pathetic and weak!" I growled before I spoke. "No," I muttered. My voice then grew in strength. "No! You're wrong! I am brave! I am not weak!" I then flipped all of my hair out of my face, even the hair that covers my scar, and stared right at Laura with hatred in my eyes. "And Garren does love me!" Then something peculiar happened. The mark of the Rose around my eye began to glow bright red. "Now return to where demons like you belong," I shouted. "Demons belong in Hell!" Then spheres of energy glowing bright red formed in my hands. I aimed right at Laura and fired. Each one was a direct hit to her stomach. She lay there motionless on the ground for a moment but then she was surrounded by a ring of energy. Suddenly she was gone. My mark stopped glowing and the energy spheres disappeared. I sat there motionless on the floor. My vision started to blur. I then heard something crash through a window. By this point I was getting dizzy. I saw what looked like the figures of Andrea and Garren rushing toward me. Suddenly I was hoisted up into Garren's arms. "Rylie? Are you alright?" he asked in a nervous panic. I nodded. He smiled in relief but he still looked a bit concerned. He kissed me softly and began to move toward the stairs. "Garren," I said weakly. "I love you." Shortly after saying this I passed out in his arms.
