Soon after my grandparents introduced me to the "brand new staff members", they smiled sweetly at me and walked upstairs to go about their usual business. Once I heard the doors close and I could tell they couldn't hear us, I ran up to Garren and Andrea. "What are you doing here," I asked them. Andrea giggled.

"Well what does it look like," she said. "We work at the manor now."

"Yes but why are you working here?" I asked, still quite puzzled. Garren stepped a bit closer to me.

"We needed to find a place to stay that is close to you," he said, putting his arm around me and gently pulling me closer to him. He smiled. "We want be be close enough so that we can protect you at all times. I never want to be far from you, my rose." I smiled and blushed. I always feel the happiest when Garren calls me his rose. I then remembered that I had something else to ask them.

"How did you guys clean this place so thoroughly?" I questioned. "This place was an absolute disaster. The windows were shattered and a lot of items were broken all throughout this area." Andrea laughed again.

"This room was actually simple to clean," she said. "It would have taken a team of humans but it only took two angels." Garren looked toward Andrea then back to me.

"Then we left a note on the door to your grandfather's office notifying him that his beloved maid Laura had 'resigned'," he said. "We knew that if he knew Laura was gone he would be even more eager to hire a new maid. Then I was able to persuade your grandparents to give me the job of being the Blackwood Manor gardener." I smiled and lay my head against Garren as he still held me close in a sweet way. I then looked up at him and then over to Andrea. I was thrilled that they wouldn't be far from me anymore and I wouldn't have to wait until nightfall to see them. Unfortunately whenever my grandparents are present, I cannot show how close I actually am with them. I could accidentally say something that could give away their true identities. Garren gently let me go and began to speak.

"Andrea and I decided that we should all meet up tonight and devise a plan for when the demons decide they want to crawl out of hell and attack again," he said. "We can also give you some additional flying lessons. It will give you more opportunity to break in your new wings." Andrea then jumped into the conversation.

"I was thinking that later on tonight, we could all meet in your room and begin discussing strategies," she said. "Maybe around midnight when everyone is fast asleep." I smiled and nodded at her.

"That sounds like a great plan," I replied. I stepped back a little and looked from Garren to Andrea. Garren looked similar to how he always dressed. The only thing that was different about him was a navy blue vest that he wore over his usual white, button-down shirt. Andrea, however, was a different story. I was accustomed to her beautiful, blonde hair hanging down over her shoulders and seeing her in some type of simple but elegant pink dress. This style was quite the opposite. Her hair was in two low ponytails and her maid outfit was black and white. There wasn't even a touch of pink anywhere. It was very different but she still looked very beautiful. I realized that it looked like I was just staring blankly into space so I snapped my attention to an old grandfather clock.

"I have to go now," I said even though I would rather stick needles in my eyes than go to one of my tutors lessons. "I have lessons now. And as for tonight, meet me outside my bedroom door and then we can talk about the plans." I started walking away but first Andrea gave me a hug and smiled at me.

"Yes we should be getting to work," she said. She smiled and then walked upstairs toward my grandmother's office. Then Garren walked up and kissed my forehead.

"I should be getting to the garden," he said. "I will find a lovely rose for you and bring it to you tonight. Although no flower can compare to your beauty." I was blushing madly at this point. How was I ever blessed with someone so sweet and amazing? He hugged me and then walked out the back door into the garden. I walked to my lessons with a bit of spring in my step and a smile on my face. I was sure that I was still blushing about Garren but I don't mind. He is such a wonderful and kind hearted boy. Then I thought about Andrea. I finally have a best friend. She's someone I can confide in and trust whole-heartedly. I finally don't feel alone. I rounded the corner into my tutor's office and took my seat. He began to drone on about grammar and literature. I barely paid any attention to him. I was too busy daydreaming about flying with my new wings through the night sky, Garren and Andrea by my side.
