My head was rested on my hand as my tutor proceeded with the same lesson categories. I was completely bored. I cannot stand to be in this room for hours as a middle-aged man, who speaks in a monotone voice, talks about what he considers to be "the exciting world of literature" and "the fascinating topic of history". As I sat there daydreaming my eyes started to wander toward the window. It was a lovely day. The sun was out and there weren't many clouds in the sky. It is such a great change from the dreary, rainy, depressing weather we usually seem to have here in London. While I was looking outside I caught a glimpse of Garren tending to the garden. I still couldn't believe that he and Andrea were technically considered servants of the manor now. My thoughts were rudely interrupted by the loud noise of a wooden pointer being hit on the table. I sat up straight and I could tell by the look in his eyes that I was about to be lectured.

"Miss Scarlet Blackwood," he said in a stern voice. "This is the fifth time this week I have caught you letting your mind wander away from my lessons. Pay more attention to me young lady because I am here to instruct you and give u the precious gift of knowledge. After all, without knowledge we are nothing. Do I make my self clear?" I rolled my eyes and nodded to him.

"Yes Sir," I replied with a slight attitude in my voice and body language. He then resumed his lesson plans and I resumed my daydreaming. My mind drifted into thoughts of flying through open skies, relaxing under the majestic willow tree in the garden, beautiful roses with silky-soft petals, and being in the strong arms of the one I truly love. I could feel my cheeks turning a light shade of red at all the emotions and thoughts racing through my brain. Suddenly the grandfather clock chimed signaling that I could leave now. I couldn't have gotten out of that room any faster. Once I had left my tutor's office I went about my day. I sat up in my room trying to just relax after what seemed like endless torture when Andrea walked in and sat down on my bed beside me. She looked exhausted. She looked to me and sighed with a slight laugh.

"Being the maid of Blackwood Manor is certainly hard work," she said. I laughed a bit back at her as she fixed her hair.

"Well no one ever said that being a maid would be and easy task," I responded. "But don't worry. I'm sure it won't be too bad after a while." I paused and laughed a little more. "And I will try not to make your job here anymore difficult." She smiled and tied her hair back into her two low pony tails. Her pale green eyes are always sparkling. Sometimes I forget that her and I are the same age but it's small moments like this when I realize how great of a friend she is. Andrea looked down at her uniform and gave it a small look of disapproval. I noticed her expression on her face and became curious of what she was thinking.

"What is it?" I asked. "Is there something wrong?" She continued to look over her maid outfit.

"How could there be no pink on this outfit?" She said. "I say that tis should be a crime. I should have at least a small amount of pink on this boring uniform." I couldn't help but chuckle at this.

"Is that what is bothering you so much?" I asked with a smile.

"There is a simple solution to your problem. If you love pink so much then all you need to do is just add some sort of small, pink accessory to the uniform. I'm sure my grandparents wouldn't mind." Andrea nodded.

"That's a great idea," she said in a delightful tone. We could have talked for hours when I could hear someone calling for Andrea down the hall.

"I guess I must get back to work," she said. She stood up from my bed and began to exit my room. Before she closed the door behind her she whispered to me.

"Garren and I will meet you here later tonight. Don't forget." She smiled and closed the door. I lay back down on my bed. It's almost dinner time but yet the day wasn't going by fast enough. Everyday when I wake up I long for night time because aside from the joy of being with Andrea and Garren, at night I could be free. I had none of the expectations of the day from living here at Blackwood Manor. I could just be myself, and that is the best feeing in the world.
