My grand father helped me to my feet while my grandmother remained a bit hysterical. She couldn't understand what had just happened or why I collapsed. I wouldn't expect her to. Who could ever possibly understand what I'm going through and how deadly my situation. During this time where my grandparents were still panicking, Garren and Andrea gave me a look of concern. I feel like they could tell that something was wrong.

"Scarlet dear," my grandfather started to say, "What happened? You gave us such a scare. Are you ill?" I held my head slightly. I still felt dizzy and my head was still pounding.

"It's alright grandfather," I said trying to fake a reassuring smile. "I guess I'm just tiered and very hungry. I skipped lunch today after all." I was lying. I couldn't tell them what was really going on. They probably wouldn't believe me and I'd be sent of to a mental institution. Grandmother soon interrupted my thoughts with an unexpected hug. I could feel she was crying slightly when a stray teardrop splashed onto my shoulder.

"I'm just relieved that you are alright," she said trying to regain her composure. "I was terrified." she then released me from the hug and wiped the tears from her brown eyes. Grandmother straightened her spectacles on her face and looked over to Garren. "Garren," she began, "I would like you to escort Scarlet back to her room. She needs to rest. Byron and I will send someone up with her meal." Garren respectfully bowed to both of my grandparents.

"Yes, of course Mrs. Blackwood." he said in his deep voice. He came over to me and carefully put his arm around me. Together we walked up to my room. I was still a bit shaken and wobbly, but each time I felt unsteady Garren was there to keep me from falling. We reached my bedroom which is when he took it upon himself to pick me up and carry me in. I blushed slightly. I always felt safe in Garren's arms whether he was embracing me with a warm hug or carrying me. He gently set me down on my bed and then sat on the edge.

"Rylie," he began, "what exactly did happen?" I opened my mouth as if to say something but no words dare escape my lips. My head began to throb again. I grabbed my head with both my hands tightly when I suddenly heard a voice echoing through my skull. I recognized it immediately. The voice belonged to the demon woman. Her words were used to send me another dangerous message.

"You better not tell anyone about our little conversation," she warned. "Especially not your little guardian angel." Garren was able to bring me back to my senses. Then he asked the same question.

"Please Rylie," he said. "what is happening with you. It's worrying my sister and I". Suddenly without warning, I broke down into a sobbing mess. I buried my face in my knees and cried.

"Oh Garren," I sobbed. "I wish I could tell you, I truly do but I just can't!" He threw his strong arms around me trying to calm me down. My tears stained his neatly pressed white shirt while he rested his chin softly on my head.

"It's going to be alright Rylie," he whispered to me. "Remember that I'm here to protect you and I'll always be there when you need me." he wiped a tear from my eye with his handkerchief and gave me a reassuring smile. I smiled back weakly still feeling that if I were to take one step out of place, my world would come crashing down around me in a sea of flames. I guess Garren could tell I was still worrying myself to the point of almost being sick so he tucked my hair behind my ears and then held my hand tightly, looking into my eyes that must have been all red and puffy from crying.

"Now there are those beautiful green eyes," he said with a smile. "Tonight we can meet as planned alright?" I nodded in agreement but I was still hesitant.

"Alright then my rose. I shall see you tonight." He looked as if he were about to leave when he tilted my head back slightly and gave me a soft kiss. Then he whispered to me, "I hope whatever is troubling you leaves you alone." Garren covered up my scar with my hair once more, stood up, and proceeded to exit the room.
