ACCORDING TO Søren Kierkegaard, one could be deceived by believing and not believing. That, one could be deceived by believing what is true and, at the same time, by not believing what is true. One must not think with conceited sagacity.

That is what it means to deal with Futhark.

Whilst my understanding of his condition remains meagre, I have decided to throw all of my previous contempt and deals with him and simply be a nice, considerate friend. His back-up, a shoulder to lean on.

But then the bloody bastard blatantly lies to Cassandra.

I caught him beating Error up, he was not being chased by a dog. He could have had been chasing a dog until he caught Error, but he also mentioned that Error was stalking him.

Either way, he lied.

To hide his illness?

To simply lie?

To throw Casey off her investigation?

But why? If it was to throw Casey off her observation, why would he do that?

If it was to simply lie, would it mean he's unwell?

"I'll answer all your questions later."

"I know, but let me think for a—"

REALITY.

I turned to Futhark and started blinking furiously. Was I imagining things or did he really read my mind?

He sat beside me, a'course we're in a public jeepney, and he let me sit near the doorway. He knew my aversion to contact with other people. Edward Dace sat in front, beside the driver, and Laevateinn must be jogging somewhere to catch up (we simply gave him the address, given that Fenrir was not allowed in public transportation).
