Twelve

Venus POV:

Several days passed before I was strong enough to move. I held out my arm to Donnie, who had been working almost non-stop to make sure I was healed. He took down some numbers and went back to his computer.

"I can't wait till you are back on your feet enough to get back to training. Raph has been showing me some new techniques with my psi that are pretty sick." Bellona demonstrated with a quick spin of her psi, startling Iris. Athena giggled a little, but turned my way suddenly with a serious look.

"You're thinking of what?" Athena accused. I gave her a look, having been over the whole, "Don't read my thoughts without express permission" thing before. But her look made me feel a little guilty. "Why would you even-"

"Athena? Wanna clue us in?" Bellona and Iris were watching intently. Athena stood, making her way to the doorway.

"She's thinking of leaving. All of us, leaving." She said, making Bellona chuckle. I looked at her confused. She gave me a confused look back.

"You mean you're serious? Are you crazy?"

"No I'm not crazy! Think it through guys. If he is still out there, he is still a threat to us. And that threatens the guys. I'm just trying to think of what is safest for everyone." Bellona stood and followed Athena, who had left as I said the words. I heard Leo's voice in the hall and his face in the doorway, and then Bellona's harsh words, telling him my thoughts. He looked at me, then walked away.

"Leo, wait... ugh," I laid my head back against the pillows. I glanced at Iris, who still sat at the end of the bed.

"You gonna run off, too?" I said softly. She looked at me.

"Not running, just going to make sure everyone eats. But a word of advice, V? Sometimes safety is better in numbers." She smiled at me and walked out of the room. I glanced over to where Donnie had been sitting at his computer.

"I almost forgot you were here," I said softly. He turned back to me, with his clipboard of notes. "How much did you hear?"

"Well, being right here, I heard all of it. But can I say something before you go into your 'Leader' thoughts?" He smiled at me. I rolled my eyes, but nodded for him to go on. "My Brothers and I would do anything for you and your sisters. If anything were to happen to Athena, I would stop at nothing to get her back, to heal her, or put an end to whoever hurt her." He blushed a little, and I smiled at his sudden shyness.

"Thanks Donnie," I said softly and glanced at the clipboard. "Alright, so what is the verdict? Can I move around now?" He glanced at his charts and nodded.

Bellona POV:

"Who does she think she is? What gives her the right?" I punched at the bag, taking out my anger.

"She's still nervous is all. And your technique is wrong." Raph walked over and adjusted my stance, standing closer than usual. I sighed. He stepped back. "There. Try now." I proceeded to practice the hits and kicks, returning to the stance. I hated to admit he was right. It made the impact more powerful. "Leo would get like this too. He just decided to do things on his own instead of asking for our help. Just be grateful."

"Grateful? She wants to take us away," I said, letting my anger show through at him. He came forward and pressed me back to the wall.

"And I won't let that happen. You need to relax, Bella." I rolled my eyes at the nickname, but his hand trailing down my jawline made my breath catch in my throat. He smirked. "Spar with me."

"Is that an innuendo, or do you mean literally?" I whispered back. He chuckled softly.

"Literally. Maybe an innuendo later." He winked at me.
