Twenty- Nine

           

Venus POV

I groaned, my head pounding. I blinked my eyes, only to sigh.

"Ya know, I'm really getting tired of being the damsel in distress." A soft chuckle came from across the room.

"You do it to yourself, Vee Vee. Don't know what father ever saw in you that made him think you would be a good leader." Atlas smirked up at me from across the room. It all came back to me.

"You aren't the only one." I wheeled, drawing my katana. Atlas came forward, his ninjatō poised to strike where my throat had just been. I swung, but was too short on my swing to catch his arm. My injuries were still healing. He came forward and Bellona jumped on his back. He reached over his shoulder and grabbed her by the throat, tossing her to the ground. I made to slash at him, but he knocked me to the ground. The breath left my lungs. I watched, helpless, as he beat on Bellona. He lifted her high and dropped her to the ground in a crumpled heap.

"You should have taken me up on that offer 'Bella'. Now Raph can have you. I'm all played out." He walked toward me. I called out to Athena to come to Bellona, now. I blacked out as Atlas hoisted me over his shoulder.

"Yeah well, at least he picked the Táobīng right out of the five of us." He grinned at me.

"Takes one to know one." He laughed as I fought the metal restraints that held me, hands bound above my head and feet chained at the ankle. Well at least I'm a damsel in distress they are afraid of.

"At least I betrayed the enemy. You betrayed family."

"And am I not family, Venus?" My blood ran cold at the voice that sounded. "Don't worry. We will correct you yet."

Raph POV

"Go left, stay low. We are taking the front entrance this time." The BattleShell made straight for the doors of Shredders tower.

"She is... below ground. I'm looking for schematics now." Athena plinked away at the keys. Donnie, opposite her, reconfigured the shell cells sensors to detect the radio signature of foot soldiers. Leo drove, Mikee at weapons and Iris at navigation. We were battle ready. The building lined up in front of us.

"We ready?" I got nods from everyone. Iris looked at me when she nodded. I've honestly never seen her look...well angry.

"Then let's do this. Ram the doors."

Venus POV

"You think you will ever change my mind about who you are, then you are more insane than I thought, Shredder." I glared into his face. There were burns along his jaw. "What, no mask today? Wanted me to see it?"

"Atlas, prepare the chamber."  He walked forward as a glass tube slid around me. The chains dropped from the ceiling and I fell to my knees. Water started to pour into the chamber. Along with a mixture of something green.

"We will see how you resist me once we have reset your mind." He slid his helmet on, with a menacing grin.

Athena POV

"She's this way. We need to hurry, she's in trouble!" I called to Leo and Raph. We had dismantled maybe 200 or more Foot bots on our way down the 13 floors so far, below the tower above. It extended as low as the tower stood high.

Leo led the way, followed close behind by Raph and Iris. As we pushed through the room, I stopped dead in my tracks. There was Venus, floating with her head just barely out of a green and blue substance. I ran to the controls, while the others started the fight. Leo immediately took to the chamber itself, while Raph went head on at Atlas.

Raph POV

I didn't hold back. Looking at him, all I could see was white hot rage. He barely countered as I pressed him back. He reeled as I cut a gash along his face, just above his lip to his jaw line. I reached in for the final blow, but Iris caught my hand. I was confused.

"He deserves worse than death. And we have bigger problems than this traitor. Go help Donnie and Mikee with Shredder. I'll handle him." I blinked at her, but nodded. If Shredder was here, it meant all hands on deck.

Iris POV

I turned on him, hate in my eyes. He looked at me with black irises. My eyes widened for a second in realization. I shoved him back against the wall, throwing every ounce of energy I had into the healing hands. His eyes hadn't always been black. Looking at them now, they started to shift back to their original green. He gasped, as if he had just broken the surface of an icy lake, gripping my arm.

"Iris? Oh God, what have I done? I didn't want to, he made me-"

"I know Atlas, I know. Right now, We need your help fighting him. Come on." He gripped my out stretched hand.

Leo POV

The water was creeping closer. I know she can breathe water, but the green substance could only be some sort of inactivated mutagen. He wouldn't risk losing her.

"Venus, hold on! Athena, anything?"
"I am working as fast as I can Leo!" Athena's hands flew over the control pad.

"Well could you make it a little faster?" The water had just reached over her head. My heart was starting to panic.

"Don't pressure me, Leonardo! I will have it down in 3.. 2...1... NOW!" The glass slid to the ground, sending water everywhere. Venus fell to her knees, coughing and sputtering. I fell to my knees beside her.

"You alright?" She nodded. I started to dismantle the restraints when a loud crash sounded. The fight with Shredder had made its way over and Shredder had his eyes on me. He lined up a perfect shot and fired his projectile blade. I turned to cover Venus with my body and shell, but a clang like metal on metal rang out. I turned back to see Atlas between us.
