Chapter 3

Jace P.O.V.

I sobbed. She was gone, she was really gone.

Alec stood behind me gaping. "Jace? What the hell just happened?"

I couldn't answer, my mind was elsewhere. "Alec call Magnus," I croaked out " and get the others too. They're gonna want to hear this.

Alec P.O.V.

I turned and rushed out of Clary's room and grabbed my phone from my bedroom. I punched the in numbers that I knew so familiarly. Magnus picked up on the second ring. "Alexander." Magnus said.

Magnus and I were getting closer but my heart still did somersaults at the way he said my name.

"Magnus we need your help-" I started but I was cut off.

"Sorry Alexander I'm all booked, how about in 3 months? Is March 13th good?" He said, his voice cold.

He probably could have gone on about this for hours but I said "Magnus please, it's...

It's about Clary."

He was silent for a few heart beats.

"Give me 5 minutes." That was all he said before the line went dead.

Jace P.O.V.

Everyone I cared about stared back at me in the library. Yes, even Simon.

Isabelle and Simon sat on the couch and Maryse sat in a chair. Alec was standing behind me.

Magnus was laid across the love seat like Rose from The Titanic. Thankfully he was fully dressed in a deep blue blazer, white t-shirt, and jeans. His hair was spiked and had mounds of glitter in it.

Before I could open my mouth, and thousand questions were fired at me about a mile a minute. I let then do so for a about a minute before I got impatient. "Silence!" I yelled.

That shut everyone up.

Izzy was the first to break the weary silence. "Jace what's going on? And where's Clary?"

I didn't know how to answer her

I finally found my voice. "She- she's gone."
