Chapter 12

Jocelyn POV

"I-Isabelle...is it really-?" She nods, and something explodes inside my chest and I'm sobbing for all the time I've lost.
"It's my girl, it's my little girl." I choke out. Clary mirrors the fierce hug I've pulled her into. I don't even remember moving. She rocks me back and forth as I get a hold of myself.
"Jocyln who's outside-" my husband Luke stands at the door, mouth agape.
"Hey Luke." Clarys small wave seems to trigger the same effect izzys nod had on me, with Luke. He rushes forward and wraps us both in a warm embrace.
"My girls are back together again" his deep vibrato rumbled  against our entwined arms. "Oh Clary, where have you been?"
She pulls away and gestures to the oddly familiar people standing behind her.
"Well mom this is Hunter and his mother and father, Sophia and John. They run the Los Angeles institute." Clary said.

"That's where you've been this whole time? How come we didn't get any word?"

"I never wanted you to know but when the Clave asked if I would come to idris on this mission, I knew I couldn't say no." She replied.

I tucked her into my side one more time, savoring the soothing feeling of having my daughter with me once again. 
Clary's POV

"Also, Mom, one last thing." Clary moved to pull a handsome young man from the small crowd that had gathered "Hunter and I- uh- well, we are- um", "-dating." Hunter finished.

An obviously loud scoff sounded  from my right, then a dull thud and Jace's voice in a low mumble.

Huh. Serves him right. I'm strong, bold and beautiful now. And I can't wait to rub it in his face.

Besides, Hunter makes me happy and that's all that matters.

~TIME SKIP~

Walking into the  council room, I gasped. The large room was covered with glittering Adamas. As I glanced around the room I noticed tall pillars and marble walls. The room itself glowed with its own inner light.

"Is this the first time you've been here?" Hunter asked, his hand resting on my lower back. "No," I giggled, "It just takes my breath away every time."

The rest of group filed in, including my mom and Luke. I'm pretty sure they never wanted me out of their sight again. I smiled. I could live with that.

Suddenly, a loud voiced echoed throughout the hall. A voice that sent shivers down my spine.

"Clary Fairchild, I'm glad you've decided to join us."

Also Thank you guys for all the sweet lovely comments, you all seriously make my day and it always makes me love writing even more.

However, I wanted to address something. When I started writing this, I had just finished reading City of Heavenly Fire I think. So while Cassandra Clare has been writing so many more novels (THAT I LOVE), my story won't necessarily like up or match hers. My story takes place after City of Heavenly fire about 2-3 years in the future.

So thank y'all for being patient with and continuing to read my book, it truly means the world to me!
