Running With Wolves

Chapter 8

My Mother. 

She's alive!! My mother is alive and breathing!!! 

Where has she been all these years? 

I was so overjoyed and happy that I was just standing there in shock. I couldn't move any part of my body. A single tear slid down my face and I ran towards my mother. 

I was crying hysterically and she was consoling like she used to. I looked up at her and saw her smiling with her piercing grey eyes sparkling. Everyone always told me I had my mother's eyes. 

I didn't know what to say, I had so many questions but at the same time I just wanted to stay there hugging her forever. 

"Welcome home, Scarlette, I missed you so much" she said with a tear of her own on her face. 

"You have no idea how much I missed you and how much I wanted to die without you." I said through sobs. 

"I know sweetheart, but we're together now right?" She said with a smile. 

"Yes, and I hope I stay with you." I replied with my own tear-stained smile. 

"Now, I'm sure you have lots of questions, but let's go inside first." My mother said and gestured towards a castle. I never realized that was there, or the beautiful garden, or the sparkling fountain, or the 800 wolves watching us.

 I guess it was because I finally saw my mother after ten years. I stared in awe at the wolves and followed my mother inside the castle. 

That's when I realized how beautiful she looked. She had aged quite a bit, but other than that, she still had her long silky brown hair, her piercing grey eyes, and slim figure. She was wearing a beautiful white dress that had a 5 foot long train behind it. She looked elegant, she looked beautiful, she looked flawless. And she was my Mother. 

We went inside and I was completely awestruck by the magnificence of the castle. It was made completely out of ice and had multiple statues, exquisite paintings, amazing windows and the best of all, the throne. 

I had a feeling it belonged to her. 

She lead me to a room with an incredible chandelier. I stared at it for so long, I almost tripped and fell. 

We both sat down on the couches, and my mother smiled at me warmly. 

"So what questions do you have dear?" I though for a minute then I answered 

"How are you alive? I saw you die?" Then she replied, 

"Well Scarlette, I am technically dead in your universe, they have my body and every thing, but my soul, was not dead. You see, I am the queen of the wolves, and I fell in love with your father. I was curious to see what the mortal world was like, so I went and I fell in love with your father. We got married and had a beautiful baby girl, you. Then as the years went on, I realized that I had been gone for too long in the mortal world and I had to leave. You were only 6 at the time, and I had to die in the mortal world somehow, to come back here. So I committed suicide, and came back. I gave you that necklace because I knew you would eventually find me again.  I had lots of things to do here in the kingdom and I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you. I know what your father did to you, and I won't go back to him again. So I sent Crescent to get you to come to me and live here. Scarlette, you have great powers like myself, you can do many things. Please don't go back and stay with me, and I'll teach you how to harness those powers. There is a reason you have my eyes." 

Woah, that's a lot to take in, mortals, powers, my father, the queen of wolves?

"Wait, so you are a supernatural being that is immortal, you fell in love with a mortal and had me, you are the queen of wolves, and I have powers?" I questioned her. 

"Correct Scarlette." She replied. 

"Wait so what did you mean about my eyes?" I asked. She replied with,

"Let me show you."
