I jerk awake and find that I am tied to a chair, with duct tape over my mouth.
I look up and see my father smirking at me. I am absolutely petrified, and I can't move.
"Miss me?" He says with a snarl. He stays there staring at me with his evil smirk. I still can't move, and all I can do is stare back.
"You know," he starts
"I actually didn't think you would come. I had a feeling this plan wouldn't work, but surprise surprise! You're here!" He says with a sickening laugh.
I slowly start to come back to my senses and decide not to thrash around this time. I decided I would try to escape when, and if he leaves.
"And you know what," he says "I didn't know you made a friend after you ran away from me."
He says the last part with a growl and gestures towards a cage, about 7 feet away from me. I peer inside the cage and my heart stops.
Crescent... She was inside, with her snout in a muzzle, her paws all tied up, and cuts all over her beautiful black fur.
I couldn't take it, I had to get out of here somehow. I needed to save Crescent.
"See, look at how smart your father is, I caught both you, and wolfy here." He says.
As soon as Crescent hears wolfy, her ears perk up, and she raises her head to look at me. I could see the pain in her eyes. I could almost feel it.
My father looked at me again and his face turned serious.
"Why did you leave me Scarlette?" He asks in a demanding tone. He rips off the duct tape, and I don't answer. He gets angry at this, and asks me again.
"WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME?!" He screams. When I don't answer again, he slaps me.
I stay quiet and he slaps me again. He looks frustrated and starts pacing around what I assume is the cellar or basement. I wonder where we are? I hope my mother somehow finds us and kills him.
My father starts grabbing at his hair and decides to leave. I expected this to be a lot worse. I guess he was too frustrated to stay and torment me.
I look over at Crescent and she's staring at me, waiting for me to do, or say something. I look at the ropes and see if I can somehow get out. It seems impossible because they're so tight, I can barely breathe. Since my hands are behind the chair, I can just reach my back pocket. I feel something sharp and remember that I put a knife in there just in case I needed it. I decide not to pull it out just yet, because my father might come back. I'll wait until he goes to sleep or something.
I hear footsteps at the entrance and quickly return to my original position. He comes down just to check on me with his tired eyes. As soon as his footsteps faded, I took out the knife and started to cut.
It wasn't long before I had cut through the ropes holding my hands, the I started on the ones around my ribcage. Then my feet, then my legs. When I was completely free, I woke up Crescent and saw that I needed a key to open the cage. I looked around and I didn't find anything.
Then I searched my pockets again, and just my luck, I found a paper clip. I unlocked her cage quickly and tried finding a way out. Then, I noticed Crescent was about to howl.
"Shhh, we can't make any noises," I whispered to her.
She didn't listen, threw her head back, and howled loudly.
Oh no.
This is bad.
I heard my father's footsteps coming down and I started to panic. He came down the stairs and there was nowhere to hide.
His red eyes stared back at me with anger as he charged towards me.
