Chapter 16: Coming Home

Jason's POV

Victoria. Victoria Wells. Haven't heard that name in a minute.

"That isn't what I'm talking about now." I growl, walking into the office I was recently in with chief.

"What are we talking about?" He asked, a little worried.

"Take a seat." I spat.

I took a seat in my chair, across the desk.

"Kaiden Hood," I begin the conversation.

"What about him?" He asked, the anger already building up inside him.

"Don't you dare get upset with me about this," I warn him, "Why'd you kill him?"

"Kaiden hadn't gone through with a deal. I didn't know he was Hood's son. He was threatening Garrett." He told me.

"Garrett? Are you kidding me? Garrett was going behind our backs! And you kill a man for him!" I shout.

"He was my brother, Jason!" He screams back at me, tears filling his eyes, "The only family I had left!"

"Why do you think he's dead now, Matthew?" I ask, calming down a bit.

"He didn't mean to. It was because Kaiden didn't go through with his drug deal. It was Kaiden's fault he snapped!"

"You can't blame a man for your brother's mistakes." I tell him.

"If Kaiden would've just gone through with the delivery, none of this would've happened. Garrett wouldn't have snapped and killed Amanda and you know it!"

"Amanda was the love of your life, Matthew. She was my sister's best friend, like her sister. And because Garrett didn't get to keep going through with his addiction, it gives him the right to kill an innocent woman?" I ask him, "Huh, Matthew?!"

"No! I was just so furious! I wanted to blame someone, Jason!" He raises his voice, instantly breaking down after.

"Matthew, Garrett made your life miserable. He was no brother. If he was, he wouldn't have put you through with his mistakes."

Matthew's POV

~Memory~

"Garrett, don't do this! You know it's for the best!" I was begging him, hoping it wouldn't go the way I was dreading.

"She doesn't love you..." He smirked, evilly.

"Matt, don't let him do this!" Her soft cries echoing through the cold, empty room.

"You don't have to do this, Garrett. You're better than this! Please! I love her!" I shout at him.

"The slut deserves to die." He said, finally lifting the gun in his hand and pointing it straight at her, "any last words, bitch?"

"Please!" She screams.

*BOOM*

All I saw was red. The feeling of a million knives being stabbed into my stomach. Making me drop to the ground, the unbearable feeling taking over. He killed the love of my life. Because the fucking bastard didn't deliver his needs. I've got to find the man who did this.

~End of Memory~

"I was so determined to find the man who caused my brother's pain." I told him.

"And you killed him." Jason said, shaking his head.

"Garrett regretted killing Amanda. That's why he shot himself." I tell him, the feeling of numbness coming back like that night.
