I literally bolted from my sleep, excitement taking over. I pushed off the covers and jumped to the bathroom, determined to get ready for the day.
I couldn't wait to go to school.
I brushed my teeth and my hair then pulled out my uniform from a drawer. There was a knock on the door before my mom entered.
"Sakura it's- oh you're already awake." She says surprised. I smiled up at her and nodded vigorously.
"I could barely sleep I was so excited." I say, tugging on my stockings.
She laughed. "I can see that." There was a small pause as I fixed my uniform. "would you like me to do your hair?"
I thought about it. "Yes please." I answered. She sat down on my bed and patted for me to sit in front of her. She braided my hair into two loose braids that reached to the middle of my back and left my bangs out. I thanked her and she told me to come down when I was ready for breakfast.
I quickly gathered my things, putting them neatly into my backpack and then going downstairs. I eat breakfast with my mom and dad but I could hardly sit still. When I was finished I slipped my shoes on and they walked me out the door and to Sasuke's house. I waited impatiently, leaning on the gate and tapping my foot.
After what felt like forever, the door finally opened and Sasuke- along with his parents and Itachi- came out.
"Sasukaaaaayyy. Hurry up!!" I whined.
"Yeah yeah." He said, waving his hand in dismissal. I rolled my eyes.
Our parents insisted they took some pictures before we left, much to Itachi's and Sasuke's grumbling, but I didn't mind. I stood in between Sasuke and Itachi and smiled while they took a few snaps. Then they took a few of just me and Sasuke. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed he wasn't smiling.
I elbowed him and then sent him a glare. "You better smile." I warn. He sighs then gives a slight smile to the camera, I join him.
"well, lets go." Sasuke says after our parents took about a billion and one pictures.
"Wait! We have to wait for Naruto!" I say. Sasuke groaned.
"I say we leave him." He muttered.
"I heard that." I note and he rolls his eyes.
Moments after, our new, blonde, energetic friend came up to us panting. "Sorry! I came as fast as I could." He huffed.
"It wasn't fast enough." Sasuke muttered and I glared at him.
"No worries Naruto, you made it just in time" I smiled at him. Our parents took a few more pictures of the three of us before finally letting us go to school. Itachi led us, a bag slung over his shoulder and minding his own business.
Naruto, however, found it in his interest to talk to- but mainly- Itachi, leaving Sasuke and I traveling a few steps behind.
"Are you excited?" I ask him.
"Of course. . . . but somethings not right." he says, glancing at me.
I tilt my head, "What is it?" Before I knew it Sasuke pulled out the hair ties out of my braids and was running his fingers through my hair, undoing it.
"There that's better." He says, "I like it better when your hair is down, it suits you better." I can't help but blush at his words, I smile at him as a way of thanks. I looked forward and laughed as Naruto was starting to get on Itachi's nerves.
"Idiot is gonna get himself killed." Sasuke says seriously.
I laugh, "Yeah, I think he's cute though." I say, and I notice Sasuke grow silent. "Hey Naruto!" I call before Itachi decides to commit a crime. Naruto slows down to match pace with Sasuke and I. l
"Yeah?"
"I would be careful if I were you." I warn him playfully.
"Why?" He asked, confusion written all over his features.
I giggled and rolled my eyes, "So clueless."
Before long we had arrived at the school and my excitement bubble up in me more than ever. I noticed Sasuke put up his front but I could still feel his excitement.
Itachi dropped us off where we needed to go before leaving to his class. I looked around at all the kids running around before the bell rang and my excitement turned to nervousness.
I noticed lots of people staring at us, well, Sasuke mainly. Girls were practically drooling over Sasuke. I got looks of well and I couldn't quite tell what they were, but I knew they weren't good ones. I grew subconscious and was glad that Sasuke had pulled out my hair so that I could hide behind it.
My hair was then tucked behind my ear on either side. I looked up at Sasuke first and he gave me a small glance along with quick smile before returning to his impartial facial expression. I then looked at Naruto who was giving me a big goofy grin I had become used to.
"You're beautiful. Don't hide that." He said quietly and I blushed, looked at the ground.
"T-thanks." I said. I took a deep breath and then released it, letting the heat leave from my cheeks. "I'm really glad I have you two." I say.
The bell rings and we all filter into the classroom. The teacher then instructs that boys sit on one side and girls sit on the other. I felt something clench my chest and I started to panic. My only friends were guys, thus practically condemning me to social torture. It's a whole new world over there and I wasn't ready for it.
I felt a hand on my back, "Don't worry. You'll be fine." Sasuke whispered, I nodded and took a seat by a particular quiet girl with dark blue hair.
I looked over my shoulder at Naruto and Sasuke who were sitting next to each other. Sasuke was looking out the window and Naruto was being loud and rambunctious like how I've come to know him.
The teacher introduced himself as Iruka-sensei and then asked us to get familiar with the person sitting next to us.
I glanced at the girl with short blue hair and pale eyes next to me. I took a deep breath, puffing out my cheeks as I did so, 'well, here goes nothing' I release the breath and turn to the girl.
"Hi, what's your name?" I ask the girl quietly as chatter was flittering about the room. The girl looked at me a little surprised. She opened and closed her mouth a few times before finally answering.
"H-Hyuga H-H-Hinata," She stutters, "W-What's Y-Yours?" She asks softly.
"Haruno Sakura," I smile at her, "It's nice to meet you." I give her a slight bow. She smiles back and returns the gesture. The teacher called for our attention and started laying down some basic rules.
I glanced over my shoulder again and saw Naruto smiling proudly at me. Sasuke was still facing the window but I made eye contact with him. He was smiling softly, a smile just for me and only I could see. I smiled back then faced forward.
I guess this would be as bad after all.
