I sat on the window seal reading a book, it was one of my favorite things to do after all. After a bit the whole thing with Karin died down and was soon forgotten, but I managed to keep a small piece of it in my heart, it was an important stepping stone in my life, at least to me.
Suddenly there was a tapping noise on my window and I looked up. I waited for the noise to come again and realized someone was throwing pebbles at it. I set a book mark to hold my place, gently lifted up the window and stuck my head outside to see who it was, my book still in my hand.
Low and behold it was Naruto, along with the rest of the gang besides Sasuke. Naruto was in the ready position to throw another pebble but stopped mid throw when he say my head poke out. Upon seeing the book in my hands he scrunched up his nose and dropped the pebble.
"It's only three days into the summer and you are spending it cooped up inside reading a book?" he asks and I only shrug.
"It's fun, and relaxing. You should try it sometime." Was my only reply.
"Nerd" Coughed Ino and the others laughed playfully.
"Oh shut it Ino pig." I called down and the others ooed.
"What did you call me!? why don't you get down here and say that to my face forehead!" She yelled and I stuck my tongue out at her. Suddenly the window across from me slid open and Sasuke stuck his head out. He looked grumpy and his hair was messy, more so than usual. You could tell he had just woken up.
"You are being too loud." He grumbled irritably.
"And you are being too lazy." I retorted. "Sleeping all day? Really Sasuke? What is that all about."
"Hey, at least I'm spending my time usefully and not off reading some... book." He said and an evil smirk spread across his face.
I faked a gasp and feigned fake hurt. "It is not just some book." I say.
"Oi! are two done up there!?" Naruto yelled.
"What a drag." Shikamaru said, putting his hands behind his head.
"Are you two coming down to hang out with us or what?" Ten Ten shouts impatiently while dribbling a soccer ball.
"Yeah, we're coming." Sasuke and I sat at the same time. I pop my head back inside my window and put my book down. I put on my shoes and raced down stairs, giving my parents a quick explanation as to where I was going before shooting out the door. We met between my house and Sasuke's and then went to the field to play soccer.
"Don't you guys ever getting tired of soccer? And don't you four have a game today?" I ask, referring to our soccer players: Kiba, Neji, Naruto and Sasuke. Shikamaru was too lazy to play and choji too. . . unmotivated? Sure we will go with that.
"We love soccer, plus we could use the extra practice." Kiba notes and I only shrug. We set up our teams and play for awhile, just having a friendly match. It wasn't long before our soccer players had to leave and get ready for their game in which the rest of us changed the game to freeze tag.
"Sakura, I need to come home please, " It was my mom and she sounded urgent.
"Um... I'll meet you guys at the game." I say and hurry off to meet up with my mom. A chorus of byes were called after me and we left. My mom was hurriedly speed walking home but acting casual about it; I had to jog to try and keep up. I wanted to ask what was wrong but the look on her face suggested that now wasn't the time so I kept my mouth shut.
As soon as we walked in the door my mom started bustling around the house and so was my dad. Unsure of what was going on, I decided to sit on the couch. . . I was there for awhile. Finally, when my mom started throwing out suitcases I just had to ask.
