"Hi Leah, look darling I know your upset but please come home. Everyone is worried." Aunty said. "Erm, I'm on my way." I said hanging the phone up. I was still at the graveyard and I was there for quite a long time. I wiped my tears away for the billionth time. I slowly strolled to my car not wanting to go home and face everyone's sympathy. I didn't want to go because I didn't wanna see his face.
I started the engine and drove.
...
A few more steps till I open the front door. I know if I see everyone's face I will surely break down again, and I could not let them see me hurting as much as I was before. Holding back my tears, I opened the door. I saw everyone sitting down.Aunty was fidgeting with her fingers, Ameera was crying on Zayn. Uncle was walking forwards and backwards and Adam sat on the sofa quietly with his palms on his face. Aunty looked up to see me and she quickly rushed to hug me. "Leah, I am so sorry please forgive me." She said.
"Aunty, it's okay, it's not your fault anyways." I said hugging her back. "LEAH!" Ameera yelled pouncing on me. "Oh my god are you okay?" Ameera asked. "Yeah." Was all I said. I didn't want to start conversations because I knew it would lead to me crying a lot. All I need to do is stay strong. "Leah, darling come here." Uncle said extending his arms for a hug. I hugged him and one tear escaped. Luckily, he let go and no more than one tear escaped! "Are you okay?" Uncle asked. "Umm yeah." I said. "Is it okay if I go upstairs and rest?" I asked playing with my fingers.
"Leah, you don't need to ask. Go and freshen up. Remember dear, this house is yours as much as it is mines." Uncle said cupping my face with his hands. I nodded and made my way upstairs. I went into the bathroom and went for a shower but before I brushed my teeth. The lukewarm water brushed against my skin and face. It felt so warm and nice. My muscles relaxed and I felt fresh than ever. After I was done, I got into my pyjamas and went to my dressing table.
I sat on the stool combing my hair with my comb. I then placed vaseline on my lips. I realised I still had his necklace on! I took it off and placed in on the table but I opened it up to see the picture once again. That picture of our selfie brings back joyful memories. I placed it down smiling but frowning as it hurts too much to remember.
Just as I was about to make my way to the sofa Adam entered. His eyes were bloodshot red and his hair was messy. I glanced away trying not to feel sorry for him and thankfully it worked.
"Leah." His voice cracked. "Please." He said. His eyes were filled with tears threatening to let loose. My eyes also became teary but I held it back. I turned around and walked over to the sofa. Adam wiped away his tears and he went into the shower.
I'm only back because I made a promise to my aunty. I'm only back for the reputation of this family. I'm only back for uncle and aunty. But I am certainly not back for him.
Adams POV
I could see it in her eyes she's hurt. Her brown eyes no longer shine. I looked towards the dressing room table and looked at Leah's neck to witness the necklace I gave Leah wasn't there. It was no longer on her neck. I opened the locket at saw the car selfie. She looked truly mesmerising. Her smile just places butterflies in my tummy making me feel all tingly. Her cheekbones are amazing. Now all I could see is sadness and sorrows behind her eyes but the worst thing is I caused her all the pain. I shouldn't have kissed Sarah but honestly speaking I wasn't intending to. She literally forced herself on me. I finally realized what she's like.
*flashback*
Finally the movie finished. The first person to get out of the room was Leah. I could tell she wanted someone to be beside her and I was stupid enough not to be that person.
