Korra woke in a dark room. She could taste copper on her tongue and her head was pounding hard. She tried to move, only to groan in pain at the soreness of her muscles.
The room smelled like mildew, and Korra knew it hardly ever saw light. Her eyes started to close as she felt another sickening wave of pain hit her, pulling her in the deep waves of unconsciousness.
Asami paced back and fourth in the police station, her hands hid beneath her sleeve to hide their shaking. Korra had been missing for over a month, ever since the night they had confessed their love for one another.
Lin was looking at the reports of Korra missing, small pieces of evidence had been revealed each day on the whereabouts of the young officer. The dark haired police chief sighed as she watched Asami pace back and fourth in the opposite room.
Korra was jerked back to life, out of the choking waters that was unconsciousness, chains rattling as she was pulled up forcefully and slammed against the wall. Small groans of pain escaped the young officers mouth, warm blood gurgling in her throat and down her chin.
Her captor laughed, reveling in the noise of the younger girl being in pain. He dropped her carelessly, stepping on her ribs. A look of pure happiness passed across his sharp features, a smirk curling his lips as he heard a crunch.
Lin had finally found a lead, after another of her officers said he had information about where the stormy eyed girl was. The problem being how far Korra was. It would take days to get there, and no one knew how long it would take.
Asami's wheels squealed on the pavement as she took off, goggles covering her light green eyes that held tears of worry. She had overheard the officer talking to Lin and was determined to find her girlfriend.
Korra was Just barley breathing. She was unconscious at the moment and in her mind She was with Asami, safe instead of the jeopardy her life was really in. Her body was badly bruised, and many of her bones were broken. Her ribs were the worst part of the damage. If they were moved in the wrong way the could puncture her lungs.
Lin sighed, looking at the marks Asami's tires had made and knew just where the mechanic was going. Gathering her best officers she took off in one of the larger reinforcement vans.
Asami was mad, anger making her a reckless driver. She was constantly weaving in and out of traffic, impatient and in need of finding her girlfriend. She was afraid of being left completley alone again. After all, she had given Korra all she could. Her heart, and that was something Asami couldn't afford to lose again.
Korra's captor soon got sick of not getting any rise out of her. He left her broken almost lifeless body outside one of the local hospitals when it was dark and left without a trace.
Asami had finally managed to calm herself down and was thinking more rationally. She pulled off into one of the hotels nearby and waited to see Lin's police van go by, getting onto the highway after her as soon as it was possible.
Lin smiled a bit to herself as she noticed the young police officers girlfriends car. That meant that Asami had decided to start thinking more rationally and let the law handle whatever had happened to Korra.
Korra was laying in a hospital bed, monitors and iv's hooked up to her. She had went to emergency surgery the minute someone had found her to repair her broken ribs and get stitches in more than one place on her body.
It was at least 3 days until they came to the old building Korra had previously been in. The walls were caving in around the Windows, and the pain was peeled off of the stone.
Lin and her patrol stepped out of the van, holding their guns ready. She stooped low behind a large rock in front of the building, her ears straining to hear any slight movements.
