Asami sat in the hospital beside Mako, reading a book. Even after all he's done to her and Korra, She was still worried about the dark haired boy.

Mako was currently sleeping, but it was just after surgery. They had removed the glass from his face and put in stitches, the area red like it was sore. He opened his eyes, looking over at Asami.

"..'Sami? What are you doing here?"

Asami looked up from the book she was reading, mostly her gaze was cold and uncaring, but there was worry deep down.

"You're hurt and I was making sure you weren't dead."

"Well I'm sure you're relieved that I'm not."

"Actually it's a shame really, what am I gonna do with all the balloons I brought?"

Mako clenched his jaw and ignored the comment.

"Why didn't you bring Korra? Since she didn't bother to see me before."

Confusion flickered through Asami's eyes.

"She knew you were in the hospital and didn't tell me?"

Mako snorted and rolled his eyes.
"I guess your knight in shining armor isn't as honest as you think she is."

Korra had just gotten home from work, her hair up in a messy bun. Her feet ached like crazy, and she removed her heels to rub them. Sitting down on the couch, she leaned back to relax.

After about an hour, Asami arrived at Korra's house. She was mad, anger and hurt playing in her green eyes as she entered.

"Why didn't you tell me Mako was in the hospital earlier?"

Korra shrugged, not opening her eyes. "I didn't really think it mattered."

Asami's tone was sharp when she spoke again. "It does matter, what if he could've died?"

Korra opened her eyes at the tone Asami used, starting to grow frustrated.

"Why do you care what happens to him? He hurt you Asami."

Asami shook her head slowly, choosing her words carefully.

"Mako might've hurt me and hurt you, but he doesn't deserve to die because of it. You would've been the cause because you fought right back."

"What did you want me to do Asami? Give him a slap on the wrist and send him on his way?"

"What else are you hiding from me Korra?"

Korra sighed in annoyance. "I'm not hiding anything Asami."

"I can't believe you right now. I'm leaving, and don't bother calling me."

Korra watched the tall mechanic leave the house, standing in the big window at the front. She slammed her fist against the wall, splitting her knuckles.

Taking care of herself, She curled up and went to sleep.

Asami was still mad from what Korra had kept, but she couldn't believe that she actually had fought with the younger girl. She realized that she had regretted some of her words, but not all of them.

When she arrived at her own place, She tried messaging Korra. Voice mails, phone calls, and text messages, but the stormy eyed girl refused to pick up the phone. Asami curled up on the couch and fell asleep, clutching the phone to her chest.

It was twilight when Korra woke up, and she sat outside in the cool night, looking up at the dark sky full of stars. She had seen the messages from Asami but really didn't wanna talk to the mechanic at the moment. Maybe it was selfish, but she wasn't in the mood.
