Better

After two weeks, the soft curly haired boy was feeling better. He sat on the edge of the pool, swirling his legs around in the clear blue water. He was at a party, it was being held at Asami and Korra's house. It was the first time they'd all officially gotten together and had any fun, the older mechanic had figured everyone needed it.

Korra breathed deeply, standing on the cement wall. The air was cool, and it was a relief from the beating Sun. The air smelled of wood smoke since they were having a fire, Asami was cooking hotdogs and hamburgers. She had offered her help, but of course Asami had shooed her away and told her to go join the party.

The stormy eyed girl sat down on the wall, pulling back the sleeves of her dark blue shirt. The place where she'd made marks just a month before were fully healed and only the light pink scar of a reminder remained. Asami had been so understanding, and helped her out of it.

It wasn't easy, breaking the chains on her swimming demons. She learned how to break free anyways, and it was an enormous weight off the young officers chest. She felt like she could breath again, and when she smiled it was more genuine.

Lin swam with Kya in the large pool, currently underwater with Kya blowing air bubbles as she slowly let air leak from her mouth. She bounced back up, taking in a deep gasp of air. When Kya came up she splashed water in her face, and almost squealed when Kay tackled her and they rolled around in the water.

Bolin smiled slightly, watching the couple. He tensed up as a familiar deep blue eyed girl sat beside him, but started to relax as she didn't touch him.

"Bolin I'm....really sorry for what happened in the station. I shouldn't have made any moves or forced myself on you, I know it's been hard after the death of your brother."

Bolin shrugged, just keeping his face downcast towards the clear blue water. He heard Lexa's grunt of frustration and felt stinging pain against his side. He turned and with a strong swipe of his arm, pushed her into the pool.

She screeched loudly, her mascara running down her cheeks. She got out of the pool shivering, throwing her phone against the wall since it was ruined already.

"Why would you do that Bolin?"

Bolin stood up lightning quick, and looked the shorter girl in the eyes.

"I get that you wanted to be with my brother and tried at him for years, but it's no wonder you haven't gotten me. You are a downright spoiled little brat that acts like she's a princess. You can't just go around acting nice to whoever the hell you want and then turn around and beat up on them. Until you learn that, stay the hell away from me lexa."

The boy turned back around, and sat without another word. He closed his eyes as he heard lexa stifle a cry and run off. He didn't think he had been too harsh, she deserved it for the way she was acting. It reminded him of Katy Perry's "Hot & Cold."

Kya whistled at Bolin and grinned her approval, earning a small blush and smile out of the otherwise quiet boy. She hadn't very well liked the change Bolin had, he was usually so upbeat and making jokes. He acted a lot like her uncle Sokka. She had suspected for awhile that Bolin and Mako were Sokka's children, but then that'd be almost impossible.

Lin shook her head, but was grinning. The blonde finally got what was coming to her, although she deserved a lot worse than that.

Lexa shivered and huffed, stomping away angrily. There went all her credit cards and her cell phone, along with any cash she had. She had thought that the emerald eyed boy was weak, but was completely wrong.

Bolin smiled a bit to himself, hearing everyone's words of encouragement. He knew it went against everything he had ever done, but in this case it was worth it. In a way, if it wasn't for Lexa Mako might still be alive.
