Chapter 12

He parked the car and I took a deep breath, "I really hope they don't try to start anything tonight" I whispered to myself.

"You okay baby girl" Matt asked tapping me out of my trace.

I nodded not looking at him. "Perfectly fine... Let's just get this over with" I said and got out I grabbed Ruth's dipper bag while Matt grabbed her, we walked in and a man walked up to us.

"Do you have a reservation?" He asked. 

"Were here with someone" Matt said for me.

I really didn't like these kind of places like i'd rather be sitting at home instead of this but i'm doing it for my mom. "Hey" I said sitting Ruth in the highchair.

we ordered and I just stayed silent. "Lilly I wanted to talk to you about me helping you decorate the wedding reception together" She asked with hope in her eyes. I did want my mom's help we would always talk about it when I was little and that it's finally happening i'm glad that i'm doing it with her.

"I'd like that a lot... We're gonna have blue and green ribbon's on the tables and hanging up." I said they brought us our food and I helped Ruth with her's. 

"That's okay with me" She smiled, my dad didn't really care what we wanted just as long as it happened, we finished eating. Matt went to pull out his wallet but my dad stopped him.

"I got it we asked you" He said putting a hundred on the table, we stood up to leave I hugged my mom and dad Matt just shook my dad's hand. 

"Oh and Lilly?" My mom said. 

"Yeah...?" I said a little scared. 

"Come with me really fast... Please?" she said nodding her head towards the bathroom, I nodded and handed Ruth to Matt.

"What'd I do now?" I asked.

"One we're having another BBQ this weekend for you guys, it's a wedding thing..." She smiled.

"We'll be there what time?" She thought for a moment and then responded with. "four-thirty, be there." she said pointing her finger at me. "Second you and Matt are using protection right?" She said.

My jaw dropped at her words. "Mom" I said covering my face. "What i'm just asking" She shrugged.

"We're not doing anything, and if we did you won't be the person I tell mom... That would be weird for me to talk about... Why would you even ask that in the first place?" I said I felt my face heating up.

"Okay true it would be, and because you can see the hickey's he keep's putting on you, and I seen how his hand moved from the table to your thigh Lilly"  She laughed, I nodded.

"Well i'm gonna get Ruth home and put her to bed, I love you mom" I said. She replied and we walked out of the bathroom, we walked back over to my dad and Matt Ruth was asleep on Matt's shoulder, you could hear her soft snores.

We walked out and to the car, He buckled Ruth in. "Lilly let me drive, you can lay down until we get home" I smiled and handed the keys back to him after I unlocked it. I got in and laid my head on the door I closed my eyes and started to fall asleep.

About thirty minutes later I heard the car door close I looked over to Matt opening Ruth's door and picking her up. "I'll be right back to get you" Was all I heard. A couple minutes later my door opened and I was picked up I snuggled into his shirt.

He shut the door with his foot and turned around. "Baby girl lean down and lock that really fast." He said nodding towards the door I locked it and he went towards the stairs I looked over by the couch to see Ruth laying down on her bed asleep.
