Chapter 44

It's been a month without Matthew i haven't gotten the divorce papers yet because I've been so busy. I'm still in a hotel because i haven't found an apartment i like yet.

I was getting Landon dressed so he can go see his dad he's two months old and big. There was a knock on the door and i furred my eyebrows.

I walked over to the door opening it to see a tall skinny blonde standing there. "Are you Lilly?" she asks i nod.

"And you are?"

"Sarah, don't hit me i just came to talk just let me explain before you say anything please?" she beggs i nod and let her in. "Is that Landon?" she asks i nod and finish getting him ready.

"I need you to hurry i have to drop him off at his dad's" i said putting him on the bed.

"I swear to you that nothing is going on between me and Matthew I've known him for a really long time that's all, we had a one night stand when we were both drunk but i swear it was before he even met you. After he told me he was getting married i was really happy for him. When you had Landon over there and he came to work he would never shut up about you two, i do apologize for getting cocky with you on the phone i was having a bad day and trying to figure out how to tell the people at the meeting that was waiting for him that he was coming." she says taking a deep pause after.

"I would never do that to anyone I'm not like that, i don't go after married men and i wouldn't cheat on my boyfriend." she says i just nod at her.

"How do i not know if your lieing and doing this just because Matthew asked you to?" i asked.

"He thinks I'm on a lunch break i almost got my ass kicked by two of your friends and Jack and Johnson because i needed to find you and tell you before i ruined a perfect relationship" she said.

"So Matthew didn't send you?" i ask and she shakes her head no. "I have a little girl of my own i know what its like to be a single mother I've been doing it for almost five years now, i know i was young when i had her but i kept telling myself that she's the only one who won't hurt me and leave me." she said.

She pulled out her phone and showed me a picture of her little girl and her boyfriend. "He's the only guy i know that is stinking up to be a father to a child that isn't his well besides Johnson that is" she smiles.

She looks at the time and stands up. "My lunch break is almost over so i have to go"

"Wait one more question" i said walking her to the door. "Why did you come all this way just to tell me that?" i ask. "Because doing it over a phone wouldn't be right and i know you wouldn't of believed me on the phone because you would of thought Matthew was telling me what to say, also because you two belong together that's why i couldn't let you do that to him he doesn't even come to work anymore he hasn't walked out his front door in almost a month." she said i nod and she leaves.

I buckle Landon into the car and get in and get onto the highway. He's giggling the whole way there i pull into Matt's drive way and get out i grab his diper bag and carry him up the steps to the front door.

I knock three times and wait. The door fly's open and i look up to see Matthew. His hair was a mess and he looked like he just woke up.

"You can have him for the day I'll be here tonight to pick him up" i said he doesn't say anything he just's stairs at me his eyes looked red and puffy like he cry's himself to sleep. I broke the eye contact and looked away.

"Do you want to watch him or not?" i ask. He nods and let's me in i set Landon down on the floor and put his diper bag down next to him the place was still the same just a little messy.
