It was still very early in the morning when Carole woke up. She first wanted what happen to be all a dream but the fact was, it wasn't, it had happen. Edward had a child with her teenage best friend, Marco had kept everything from her in order to protected and...Ed had hit her when she tried to stop the fight that he was having with Marco.
Ugh...couldn't it all go away. What the?
Carole thought as she heard something next to her, she look to her right side an notice that she wasn't the only one on the bed, Marco was beside her, still sleeping. Why was he there and why where her legs tangled with his and...his arms where hugging her waist?
Obviously they didn't do nothing wrong, because A, they still had yesterday's clothes on and B, they weren't drunk enough to commit such a mistake like that or were they? Ugh, god. Carole was having too many thoughts about too many things, which was making her go crazy.
She shook her head, trying to not think about anything at all. Instead, she just ogled Marco sleeping peacefully by her side. She turn around facing him, his face was close to his eyes remain close and his face relaxed as he breathed in and out. Carole couldn't help but to think how handsome his face was, how he no matter how much annoying he was had the power to calm her down and put her on the edge. He had been always present in her life and what he had done today, it touch deep in her soul. It made her think that maybe it was time to start thinking about ending the stupid fights...
"Hey, Marco." She called him, whispering while poking him slowly.
He first made some noises, which Carole couldn't understand. Then, in a sleepy voice, he asked, " Car, what are you..." He didn't finish what he said because he realize he was the one that was on the wrong room and in the wrong bed. " I was going to say my room, but no. I was the one that slept in yours."
Marco was awake so was Carole, but the position they were in, even though both thought it was surprising to be like that, remained the same. Their legs were still tangled. " That's, ok. We didn't do anything to worry about. Besides, I know my bed is more comfortable then-" Carole stopped talking and gasped horrified soon Marco move his head from the pillow, she could see is full face now, not just one side...and it didn't look good. " OMG."
"Car, what is it?" Marco asked preoccupied.
"You've got a huge black eye and your lip is still bruised," she explained, thinking immediately that they were in trouble. What would the media think if they saw Marco? Good things certainly wouldn't be.
He sighed, "Well, that was kind of inevitable. Your boyfriend knew how to give some good punches." As he said that, Marco didn't realized that tears had appear in Carole's face. Marco saying those things, made her remember events that she rather not remember ever again. It hurt a lot.
She immediately whispered, " It's ex- boyfriend, Marco."
Marco looked at her, he could see that he had spoken too soon. " Car, I'm sorry. I..."
She cut him as she tried to clean the tears, " That's ok. I don't want to talk about it, I think we now have another serious matter at hands."
Marco gave her a small smile as he sat on the bed, he knew her. He knew she didn't want to talk about last night, which was understandable but he also knew he had to say something to cheer her up, because sad Carole made him sad and that could not happen. He sweetly and gently put one hand on Carole's face and spoke. " Hey, I don't you to cry anymore for him. His not worth it, ok. Besides, you are Carole Lytton Wolff, the most annoying person on the planet, and you, don't cry for stupid things. You don't cry for things that are not worth it."
