Albert and Kate were already in the hospital but they still didn't know how Carole was. The only thing they had heard in the last hour was that a doctor would be with them shortly to tell them about Carole's condition. But...they were still waiting and Marco was growing more impatient by the minute. He needed to know how his girlfriend was...and his baby. It had been just a couple of hours and Marco still couldn't quite wrap around his head the fact that in eight more months he was going to have a son or daughter. Even impatient, Marco could help but to think that it was actually an amazing sigh, imagining himself and Carole taking care of their child. It was like perfect...even though now it didn't look that way.
Marco thought abruptly ended when he finally saw the doctor coming to see them. He could see the surprise look in the doctor's face as he recognized Marco and Mats. Dortmund was a small city and everyone, but everyone knew about the BVB stars. " Good night, sorry to have kept you waiting. He had a situation in the emergency room but everything is taking care now. I'm Dr. Robert Herder, Miss Lytton Wolff's doctor."
"Doctor, how is my daughter?" Kate, Carole's mom, asked worried and before everyone could ask the same. She had known just now about the pregnancy and Marco could see that she was a little mad at her husband because he hadn't told her...but he also knew that they were a couple to kiss and make-up when they learn that everything is fine.
"She is fine now," the doctor stated as a wash of relief went through the room. Especially to Marco, he had been holding a breath, " Miss Wolff fainted earlier due to the lack of hydration, overwork, and stress. She will stay the night just for observation. Tomorrow she can go home."
"Dr., and the baby? Is...my child ok?" Marco asked relief that Carole was out of the woods but still worried about that little thing that was growing inside his girlfriend's belly. That baby quickly became his biggest concern in life...and even though he was still getting used to knowing about the pregnancy, he also couldn't stop feeling that it felt damn good.
Dr. Heder smiled, nodding. " Yes, Mr. Reus, the baby is fine. They both are, so, there is no more need for you to worry. What I need you to do, is tomorrow, when I discharge her from the hospital...she will need someone that needs to tell her to work fewer hours and stress less."
Albert smiled, " Ok, that's easy to do. I'll just don't let her work until the baby comes."
Marco and Mats chuckled, then Marco spoke. " Well, Abert, I think that won't be possible. You know how Carole is, she'll go paranoid if she doesn't work."
"Oh, I know all that...but she works for me so she's going to respect the rules," Albert said half serious and half joking.
"When can we see her?" Mats asked the doctor. He thought that especially Marco would want to talk to her.
"Now if you want, she's awake." The doctor informed them, " Obviously, it has to be one at the time."

Carole had gained conscience a couple of minutes ago, realizing that she was no longer in Signal Iduna Park parking lot but rather in a hospital bed. Dr. Herber, who was the doctor that had examined her earlier, came in and explained what had happened and why had she fainted. He advised her to work less and be careful not be stressful. She was also relieved to know that her baby was ok, nothing had happened to him or her. When the Dr. left, Carole realized that by now, Marco should already know about the pregnancy. Small tears ran down her face, she felt guilty and stupid for not telling him earlier...what was she even thinking? Marco would never be mad to know that he was going to be a father soon.
She was cleaning her tears when she heard, " Hi." It was Marco, he was lining against her room's door. He looked like had been through hell.
"Hi," Carole replied, blushing lightly as Marco walked inside her room.
Marco sat in the chair adjacent to the bed, putting his hands over hers, then he said. " Don't you ever do something like this again, you scared me to death."
Quickly the tears came back, " I know, I sorry...I so sorry."
"Hey, hey...relax. I know, ok. I know. Car, you didn't need to be scared of my reaction. I love children and I'm already in love knowing that inside your belly there's a little monkey growing. I love him or her, I don't why or how...I just do. Babe, your going to make one of my biggest dreams come true. I'm going to be a dad." Marco explained, squeezing her hand to give her support and to know that he was always going to be there for them, no matter what.
"Sorry for not telling this sooner, I don't know what came over my head." Carole apologized.
Marco nodded, " That's ok, babe. What matters now is that you and our baby are ok." He then stopped talking because an idea came to his head, it was crazy but they were already having a child, so, why not? Plain has never been their style. " You know, now we kind of have a great excuse to get married."
"Marco, are you serious? You want us to get married?" She asked, not believing that this was the reality.
"Yeah. I love you, Carole Lytton Wolff, you're the love of my life and you have my baby growing inside you. What better reason could a man have to want to get married?"
"You truly love me?" She asked, wanting to hear him again saying that, for her, marriage was never as important as feelings.
"Yes, Car. I love you, every part of my body and soul loves you." He said serious, caressing the cheeks of the future Mrs. Reus.
"I love you too, every part of me loves you," she said before kissing him passionately.
It was like it was meant to be since they were kids, since that dance when they were teenagers or the way they fight with each other...they were meant to happen since the very beginning and as they grew up so did the feelings they have for each other. Edward and Lena had been nothing but stops...because even with them they cared for one another. And now, they had a new journey ahead and a mini Reus on the way.
"So, will you be the future Mrs. Reus?" He asked between kisses, wanting to confirm what he pretty much knew.
"Yes, baby daddy." She replied, grinning before kissing him again. Nothing was better than being with him and building their family. Mini Reus would have parents that love him or her and also parents that were kind of crazy...but always in a good way.
THE END
I hope you have enjoyed this story, there are more coming up and with lots of Marco, Carole....and the new family member, would it be a girl or a boy??? Hmm, who knows???
Uptdate (18.03.2017):
- I changed a few things around, just to make it prettier. Turns out I like editing my stories quite a lot and making them better each time.
- Also, on a personal note, I finally realized one of my dreams last week and went to Dortmund, to the Signal Iduna Park. The stadium is out of this world, I loved everything about it...but I loved, even more, was the atmosphere that was in the space that the club landed to the Benfica's fans. It was incredible, even though we lost 4-0 and got out of the Champions League.
- Ok! Have fun, reading it....as many times as you like!
