“Mackenzie hun, hurry up, our flight leaves soon. We have to get going!” I heard Connor shout from outside the bathroom. I was just finishing getting out of the shower when he yelled at me.

“Be right out!” I yelled back. So you’re probably wondering why I’m getting on a plane today. The reason is, I’m moving back to California, with Connor, and the rest of Our Second Life. We all found an apartment that was big enough for all five of us; Connor, Jc, Ricky, Kian and I. I was told that Trevor and Sam can’t live with us because they are both still in High School, and that they aren’t really old enough to be without a proper guardian until 18. Luckily, Sam is 18 so hopefully by next year we can find a better place and Sam can move in.

I dried my hair with a towel and let it fall down past my shoulders. I slipped on my bra and underwear and then put on a white, spaghetti strap, thank top with grey sweats and some of Connor’s brown moccasins. All my shoes were not very comfy to be sitting on almost a 4 hour flight. Once I finished getting dressed, I looked at myself in the mirror and looked down at the ring that was now sitting on the counter. The ring that Connor gave me a few months ago. He finally had enough money to save up for one and it was the sweetest thing ever. I can’t believe I’m going to be Mrs. Franta soon. I smiled at myself, slipped the ring on my finger and walked out of the bathroom turning the light off and closing the bathroom door behind me.

I looked at our empty dorm room that we have to leave behind. While everyone is moving in because college is starting to begin soon, we were actually moving out. Our walls were empty, our drawers were empty, everything was plain. No sheets and pillows were on the beds. There was absolutely nothing in the room besides a few bags and boxes. The boxers were all of our heavy stuff, that Ricky and Jc were going to take in the car and drive to California. Connor and I had to be there earlier than all the boys did because we had to get all the essentials, like the beds, and the couches, and so on before everyone moved in. Ricky and Jc were going to drive to California, pick up Kian and his stuff and then get to the apartment in about a couple of weeks. At least I get to spent a couple weeks with Connor alone without any interruptions.

Now you’re probably wondering why Ricardo isn’t coming. If I’m being honest here, none of us are really friends with Ricardo anymore. Nothing personal or anything, but he just quit O2L because he said he needed to focus more on his Radio Station and because of that he wouldn’t be moving in with us. Since then, we haven’t really talked much. I don’t know, seems like Ricardo has moved on. Oh well.

We grabbed our bags and I grabbed my purse and we headed outside the room. Connor locked the door and then we headed towards the administration building to hand them our key before getting into Connor’s mom’s car and driving to the airport. Connor was going to leave his car here because we were taking a flight to California. Ricky was taking his car and Jc was taking Connor’s. I guess they had too much shit especially with all of ours that they needed two cars. I can’t blame them though.

We waited outside for a good 10 minutes before Connor’s mom pulled into the parking lot and got out of the car. She walked over towards us and greeted us while grabbing a few bags. Once we were all situated in the car, we decided to talk a little bit. It was going to be a 45 minute drive to the airport, so I leaned my head against Connor’s shoulder while we talked.

“Are you excited?” he asked me.

“Yeah, this is going to be amazing. I’m finally going back to California and I’m living with the most amazing people ever!” I smiled. I looked up at him gazing into his beautiful green eyes. It’s like starring into a crystal ball. Wow so cliché.

Connor began to stroke my tangled hair that I let air dry. “You know,” he trailed off. “We have a few weeks before any of the boys move in and-” I shushed him realizing what he was about to say.
