I walked out of the room sighing. I never understood why Mackenzie cared so much. They’re my best friends. Of course they’d make jokes, that’s what boys do. It’s not like they’re going to put in on the internet, they’re not that stupid. If only she listened; if she only believed me.
I walked out into the living room and Jc and Kian were already back.
“Hey Connor,” Kian smiled.
“Hey,” I sighed walking over to the only empty couch left and plopped down. Kian noticed I wasn’t in a good mood. Jc was busy on his laptop to notice.
“You alright? You seem kinda down?” He asked. I knew it would be stupid to tell him the real reason. Mackenzie would flip out. I know it wasn’t their business that we have sex or anything, but they do live in the same house, and Ricky, who lives in the same room as us, should know when to come in or not. It’s not like we need a sign on the door saying “having sex so leave”, but if he walks in it shouldn’t matter. I’m pretty sure Ricky wouldn’t stare at us.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Mackenzie is just giving me a hard time.” I half said truthfully.
“Oh,” Was all Kian could say. Jc looked up from his laptop finally and commented.
“You need to stand up for yourself then.” Jc breathed.
“What do you mean stand up for myself? Like tell her that I don’t like the fact she doesn’t want to have sex when you guys are home? I already tried that. She’s still gonna be pissed.” I blurted out. As soon as I said that I immediately regret it. I basically just betrayed her. Mackenzie’s literally twenty feet away from the living room and she’s probably hearing our conversation. I just told the boys exactly what she didn’t want them to know. Why was I such an asshole.
I quickly covered my mouth knowing what I just said was the wrong thing.
Jc and Kian glared at me and laughed. Fuck I knew this was a mistake. They’re just going to make sex jokes like they always do. I can’t blame them. They’re not the ones who do it and the one who is afraid of being walked in by two male’s. LIke what the fuck Connor.
“If you’re going to make fun of it then don’t say anything. I shouldn’t have said anything, sorry.” I got up from the couch and smashed through the kitchen door. I needed something to drink. I opened up the fridge and all that was left was milk, and a beer. I had no idea why it was there. The only person in this house who is able to buy beer would be Ricky, but he doesn’t drink. I don’t even remember seeing this last night. I grabbed it from the fridge and walked back out. Jc noticed the beer in my hand and gasped.
“Connor you’re not even twenty-one yet.” He acted as if I’ve never had beer before. It wasn’t like I was going to drink it I just wanted to know why it was in there.
“I’m not going to drink it bitch, I want to know why it was in the fridge. And I’m pretty sure Ricky doesn’t drink so I’m confused here.” Jc looked at me and laughed. Like he knew exactly what it was doing in there. I shot him a look like what the hell are you thinking. Jc shook his head and smiled.
“You put that in there.” He chuckled. Kian looked up.
“Yeah, you don’t remember?” Kian added. No. I don’t remember. I don’t ever remember putting it in there because I haven’t drank a beer since last year, when I was with Tommy.
“No...” I gave them a questioning look.
“Yeah, you did. When you and Mackenzie got into a fight, she went to Andrea’s and you invited Sawyer and Joey over and they brought some beers. You didn’t drink that night though, but you said you were going to save one just in case you needed it or something.” Jc laughed again. I kept trying to think back to that night.
