It was a good hour before I stopped crying. I stayed on the bed holding on tightly to the pillow that lay underneath me. Even though I had Giovanni with me to protect me I still didn't feel safe. Safe from my surroundings. I don't even feel safe from myself anymore. I could hear the sound of seagulls flying around the window while cawing their sounds. I slowly stood up from my bed to look out the window but I found that I was to short. I looked around for something to stand on so I could see where in the world I am. I saw a couple of boxes in the corner of the room so I went over to them to check to see if they are sturdy enough to support my weight. I dragged one of them to the window and slowly and carefully stood on it. Surprisingly I was just the size to stand on. It didn't creak or crack or even break under me. I peered out of the window and that's when I saw it. The sea. The beautiful blue sea. I had a wide smile on my face because I have never seen the sea before. I have heard how amazing it was but I wanted to experience it for myself and not hear about it from someone else. That's when Giovanni walked in.
"Well, it seems like you're doing better. And that you can see where you are. Well if you get dressed I will show you exactly where we are."
I quickly got off of the boxes and looked around for some clothing to wear. I heard Giovanni clear his throat and I looked over at him and saw that he had a pair of clothes for me. I smiled and took them then started to change into them. They were a perfect fit which it's surprising because my family never could find clothing for me. Family... What was family? It's been so long since I've even said that word. I don't even remember what my family looks like. They probably won't even recognize me if I walked in the house. Hell, I don't even remember where I live. No. I can't think about sad things. Right now I am going to see the sea! I finished dressing myself and walked over to Giovanni who was standing in front of the door. He smiled at me and opened the door and that's when I saw everything and I smiled wide and heard Giovanni speak.
"Marcus, welcome to Venice."
