(Erik's POV)
Finally, two weeks had passed and it was our wedding day. Nadir had come over; he would be marrying us. Meg came, too.
I was beyond excited for the ceremony, but as it got closer, I also grew more nervous. Nadir tried to calm me down, but he wasn't very successful. I was focused on other things.
Nadir handed me my mask just as we were going to head downstairs, but I shook my head and took another one, a new one I just had made.
"Oh, nice. So you have a new mask, Erik. Good for you, but you're going to be late, and that one looks exactly like your old one, so stop wasting time and get your butt downstairs," Nadir told me.
"Yes, yes, I'm coming, Daroga," I responded and rushed downstairs behind him.
I slipped on my new mask as I got downstairs. Surely, it looked exactly as my old one to Nadir, what he didn't know was that I had just designed and created this one so that my angel would be able to see my face while Nadir and Meg wouldn't.
I did not know how my angel convinced me to do it, but then I remembered that it was her who did, and the explained everything. We had to discuss it for a few days, she told me she didn't want to get married to a porcelain piece, but to a man, the man she loved. I told her how uncomfortable I felt without it, even though I knew she already knew that. After those few days, I gave in and decided to make it, if that would make her happy. I didn't know why she wanted it so much, or how it would make her as happy as she said, but one thing I knew: her smile was priceless.
I waited a few minutes at the little altar I had set up, and then she appeared. She looked gorgeous, Meg behind her holding the veil. I wasn't sure if I was just seeing things or if I was actually going to marry that angel that was walking towards me. Nadir snapped his fingers in front of my face and then I knew that it was real. I took her hand in mine and kissed it, gazing into her eyes the whole time.
Nadir looked at us and smiled, then he cleared his throat so we would pay attention as he gave start to the ceremony. He read throughout it in the usual way, and I couldn't wait to finally be married, but one question came from Nadir's mouth and I sensed something was wrong. I prayed it was just me, and I held my angel's hand tighter; still, not tight enough to hurt her.
"If anyone present would like to protest against this marriage, please do so now."
Nadir waited for a few seconds and I started relaxing, knowing Nadir would continue with the wedding soon. Christine gave my hand a small squeeze and smiled comfortingly at me.
"I do!" A voice from behind us yelled.
